Almost exclusively glowing things to say about L'Hermitage, where we stayed three nights. It offers great value, a great location in downtown (so we could walk to everything), valet parking, a good breakfast (yummy smoked salmon), outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi, and well-appointed rooms with good-sized bathrooms (ours also had a fireplace!). The staff is very helpful - concierge Raymond Wong literally saved us time and money with his excellent recommendations on things to do and see, restaurants to visit, and which wine shop featured BC wines. The only drawback was the construction across the street, which started pretty early in the morning, but kudos to the staff for letting us know about this as soon as we made our reservation so that we could consider changing hotels if we wanted. We stuck with our reservation and were very happy with our experience here.

Room Tip: Our room on the 6th floor faced the construction, so you might request a room on the other side of t...

This was our first visit to Vancouver and what a place to start. The greeting and check in where both efficient, friendly and the concierge was very informative.

The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and the bath rooms are excellent. Just the kind of comfort we were looking for after a 10hr flight. The location is excellent in a safe area and within walking distance of some great areas to eat, shop, drink and generally sight see.

We took advantage of the bikes and cycled Stanley Park and more, my best advice would be to ask no matter what your plans for the day are. The staff are very informative and know some great little hang outs, Al suggested an excellent place for breakfast and Raymond on the concierge could not have been more useful.

I were to return to Vancouver I would certainly be staying here again... just book you wont be disappointing.

Room Tip: We booked the most affordable room and it was excellent, we left and returned after a week in Seattl...

My husband and I spent one night at L'Hermitage during one of the legs to our trip and another two nights before we flew back to Asia. The staff (everyone from bellboys to frontdesk) at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. They helped us to unload the luggage from our car and offered valet parking for a reasonable price (we used the trip advisor special which combined parking and breakfasts for 2 in one package). Check-in was fast and the hotel lobby was well decorated and you felt great just walking into the hotel.

The rooms are big and very clean and modern. We booked the boutique room for all three nights and they upgraded us to the one-bedroom suite for both stays! Bathroom is clean and big as well with separate loo area. Bed was comfortable.

The location of this hotel is not as convenient as the other hotel we stayed in which was right at the corner of Pacific Centre but we have no issue with this at all as Pacific Centre is within a comfortable 10 minute walk. There is a Tim Horton's right around the corner and also an IGO supermarket for a quick cup of coffee / groceries.

We have read reviews of other guests complaining about the noises from the construction sites opposite the hotel. Since we checked-in on a Wednesday evening and checked-out Thursday early morning and checked-in again on Saturday evening, we couldn't really comment on the noise. However, on the morning we checked-out on Monday, we did notice some noises coming from the sites. They weren't that bad but a sensitive sleeper may find it a bit annoying.

Wifi was not very stable on the hotel premise but nothing that we couldn't bear with (actually I think it's quite typical in Canadian hotels as the other hotels we stayed in all seem to have this problem). If there is one thing that I have to complain about the hotel, it would be the breakfasts offered at L'Orangerie. If it wasn't for our traveller's choice package, the breakfast would have cost $20 a head with limited selection and the same buffet menu every day. Here's what's on offer during our stay: scrambled egg, maple sausage, smoked salmon, waffle, bread, waffle, pastries, cereal, fruits and parfait. Only the pain au chocolate and waffles were good. The other items are so so, even the fruits (melons and cantaloupe) were not that great. They would have been better off offering apples or oranges, you know the simple fruits that cannot really go wrong.

Overall, I would recommend this first class hotel to everyone who is heading to Vancouver, especially those who will have an extended stay in Vancouver!

I've stayed in many hotels in Vancouver and wanted to try something new. I've been happy with the others, but this felt different from check in. The friendliness of the staff is above average without being irritating (some places try too hard). The front desk staff were sincerely apologetic that I couldn't check in 4 hours early and sent me to their lounge for free wifi and a latte while I waited the whole 30 minutes it took to ready my room. Checking in early is a perk, not a right, so I was very thankful at their efforts. The location next to Robson is great for food and shopping.

I'd stay here again and have already recommended it to family travelling to Vancouver in a month.

We had a very relaxing and romantic stay at this hotel. That's quite unusual, considering my wife and I were in town for 48 stressful hours on a business/pleasure trip. We were there to produce a video of the band Delhi 2 Dublin at the legendary Commodore Theater, a short walk from the hotel.

The room's view was incredible. We had a very large private patio. We worked hard, and relaxed thoroughly after. This hotel provided the PERFECT spot to relax in between 14 hour days of work.

The staff was friendly. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were large and well appointed. This is rated as the "second most romantic" hotel in Canada. I promised my wife to seek out the first -- to see if it could possibly be any better.

Room Tip: We got a great deal on a suite through Expedia, because we booked far in advance. It was WAY WAY bet...

A beautiful hotel right in the downtown core. Front desk service was friendly and helpful as were the door staff. Room was excellent, very comfortable and attractive with a large bathroom and everything worked well in the room. The bed was also very comfortable.

I really enjoyed the Nespresso coffee in the room as well as access to many movie channels on the flat screen TV. I didn't have time for a swim, however the pool area looked lovely. I skipped on the buffet breakfast as it looked pretty average, though that could have been because the restaurants were closed for the holiday so possibly selection was limited.

I would recommend this hotel for it's location, quality of service and overall presentation. A beautiful place to spend a night away from home.

Our suite was stylish and very comfortable. The service here is friendly and conscientious. Great location close to young trendy restaurants. I especially loved the nespresso machine in our room, my morning is measurably better with a proper cup of coffee first thing in the morning. The bathroom was large, beautiful and the bed was comfy with beautiful linens. If you prefer a boutique hotel experience, you can't get a better value in Vancouver.

Room Tip: We saw some construction, but did not hear it across the street. Maybe ask for a room away from the...
