“Splendid stay with the best staff!”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

Stayed here pre-cruise based on the reviews from TripAdvisor. This is most likely the best hotel I have ever stayed in! Upon arrival late in the evening we had been upgraded to a unit that included a whole kitchen, washer and dryer. Staff is super friendly with a very helpful bell man and concierge goes above and beyond to steer you in the right direction. Room is kept very clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is a bit pricey, but food and service is superb. Next time I visit I will not hesitate to stay here again. All other hotels out there really need to use this one as a perfect customer service model.

We stayed here for five nights at the beginning of our two week North American trip. We booked this hotel based on trip advisor reviews and we're not disappointed! Firstly, the day we were to leave on our trip we suddenly remembered that we had screwed up our booking and did not have a reservation for the first night of our stay. We phoned L'Hermitage directly and this was quickly rectified by an awesome women (we didn't catch her name unfortunately). In arrival, we were greeted warmly by the front of house staff, and check in was a breeze. We had a boutique room facing the courtyard. We hadn't asked for this specifically, but as there was a lot of construction going on directly across the road, the staff went out of their way to ensure we had peace and quiet during our stay. A big thank you needs to go to the concierge, Raymond, who went beyond the call of duty organising some places for us to eat out, and recommending some awesome things to do while in Vancouver. The smallest downside was there is not a bar/restaurant on site, however the Kingston is directly across the road for drinks and quick meals, and as Raymond was able to sort out bookings for us, a short walk to other restaurants suited us fine anyway. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay in Vancouver

I discovered this hotel strictly by accident but I am so glad I did. We were only able to stay one night because we were starting a cruise, but given the opportunity we will stay here again. The service was amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The rooms were clean and modern and beautifully decorated. The only downside is the lack of view and the construction going on across the street. The construction is temporary and not much that can be done about the lack of view, but the convenience to everything downtown more than makes up for those minor issues. I hope we get the chance to get back to Vancouver soon so we can stay there again. Thank you L'Hermitage staff!!!

Stayed once in April and February, on my first stay there were some problems but the rooms are awesome.

On the date of my first stay the debit machine had issues, the pool was cold(asked pool guy to turn up heat, but it got even colder) and i forgot a dress shirt and vest in the room closet. I called after an hour or so notifying the items in the closet , and i was told id receive a call back. I didn't receive a call back and wasn't able to head back to the hotel because i was heading to catch a flight. I gave the front desk a call again and was told there was nothing in the closets. Those two items cost me around 500, but i realize it was my fault for forgetting them so just let it go.

Overall, the rooms are excellent(which is mostly what matters to me), and friendly helpful staff with good value.

We stayed just one night here, on our way back home. It is a lovely hotel, great location but the people are what made the difference for us. They recognized us each time we entered and exited the lobby, always cheerful and engaging offering assistance however they could. We would recommend this hotel without reservation and would be happy to return one day.

Stayed after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We could not have been happier. The service from the moment of arrival, through our stay, and on the way out could not have been better.

The location is good being placed mid way between for Gas Town, the main shopping area, the sports stadium, cruise terminal, etc.

The ambiance, rooms, food and service were all excellent. Indeed, it was a quiet oasis in a busy city. WiFi was free as was use of PC's and a printer.

Room was large, bed was big, up to date décor, free use of safe in room, lovely bathroom.

Breakfast was excellent. I don't think they provide Dinner services but there was room service. We didn't use the spa but it was available.

This hotel, as noted in the other reviews, is highly recommended and I would happy return here given the opportunity.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor which was quiet and had easy access to the business lounge and breakfast...

Just home from 4 days at L'Hermitage for a holiday. Wonderful hotel near trams, food, waterfront, Chinatown, Gastown, Art Museum. Friendly helpful staff, great food. Hot tub was very nice. Comfy bed and great linens. I would not hesitate to stay here again and hope to do so some day soon.

Room Tip: We had a petite boutique room and it had everything we could possibly need.
