We chose this hotel on the strength of its reviews and we were not disappointed. From first to last interaction with the impeccably trained staff we were impressed. Beautiful two room suite , tastefully appointed rooms, private open air balcony , awesome. This is a must visit for the discerning traveller, an oasis of refinement in a modern city. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Suite 657 , has a outside balcony , sit and take in the fresh air and enjoy the sunset over the busy...

One of the highlights of our Vancouver stay was the L'Hermitage Hotel. It lived up to its rave reviews. Good location, very comfortable and large rooms and a wonderful 5th floor patio and pool. Of particular note was the staff. Whether it was our breakfast or a cocktail in the evening, the service was attentive and delightful. The concierge was extremely helpful and ready with maps and coupons. The front desk answered all our needs. Free bikes and wi-fi were extra perks.
We had three rooms and everyone was more than satisfied. Great value for sure. Be sure and ask for a corner room.

From the welcome when you arrive, the beautifully appointed large rooms, attentive concierge only too keen to assist, this hotel was impeccable. Great location. Walk to yaletown and catch the aqua bus to Granville island markets; jump on one of the hotel bikes and ride to Stanley park. We loved l'hermitage and vancouver

L'Hermitage lives up to its TripAdvisor ratings. I am a very fussy guest and I have only positive things to say about this hotel. The staff, in front and back of the house, is completely guest centered. As a former Director of Training for Marriott, I can comfortably say, the staff's interest and service is not canned, but authentic. Cleanliness is critical to my OCD personality, and this is one of the few hotel experiences I have had in over 40 years that I have no complaints. The room was and remained perfectly cleaned during our week stay. This was not my first trip to Vancouver, a city of many magical neighborhoods. L'Hermitage is centrally located. We walked everywhere. No need for taxis if you are robust walkers. Our boutique room and patio was perfect. The layout comfortable. With an IGA grocery on the corner we enjoyed "at home" breakfasts each morning. L'Hermitage is a sure bet for anyone seeking a great hotel experience while in Vancouver.

Room Tip: Get a room with a patio that faces away from construction on Richards

An excellent hotel with a fantastically motivated staff always ready to assist.

Rooms really comfortable and very well equipped, right down to charging points for computers, I pads and I phones.

Breakfast, although not the largest selection, excellent quality and well worth the price.

In my opinion an ideal hotel for either pleasure or business trips to the city.

This hotel fully deserves its number one spot in Vancouver and the best of our holiday.

We booked a week at L'Hermitage based on the consistently great reviews on tripadvisor. I'm not sure I expected the hotel to live up to all the praise from previous reviewers, but it really did! For the money, I don't believe you will find a better hotel in Vancouver or any city.
The service was always polite and helpful. The one bedroom suite we had was perfect for a couple, and we had a massive terrace overlooking the street below. The "boutique" breakfast was absolutely fine - limited in choice, yes - but more than enough to start the day well. And the location was superb, within walking distance of many attractions.
The only caution I would add is that this is not a high-end luxury hotel. Some guests will read the reviews here and expect an experience like the George V in Paris or the Mandarin in Hong Kong. Steady on, people! You are paying a very modest rate at L'Hermitage and you get incredible value for money, but don't knock it down because you have unrealistic expectations of amenities and service.
We will definitely take another vacation in Vancouver and L'Hermitage will be our chosen hotel.

We chose this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews. We weren't disappointed. The hotel takes up three floors (5,6,7) of an apartment building in central Vancouver.

It was convenient to just about everything, and the hop-on hop-off buses have a stop about a 2 minute walk away. There are any number of restaurants and meal-serving pubs within an easy walk.

We stayed in a Signature Den. The suite had a living room, bedroom a full, well equipped kitchen and a small 'office'. The furniture is comfy as comfy furniture can be. There are two TV's which is important for couples. If we go again (and if we return to Vancouver we will) we would probably choose a room without the den. I am retired and don’t need an office.

The suite was at the front of the hotel, and there IS a building site across the street. However we were not bothered by noise at all.

The coffee was good, and supplies readily available. Wi-Fi was as efficient as Wi-Fi should be. Plenty of space for travellers to put their travel purchases too.

We didn’t have breakfast included in our package, but there were heaps of tasty breakfast-servers nearby. There is also a Tim Hortons which must meet a specific and peculiar Canadian taste set.

The staff were friendly and helpful and offered useful advice. We had asked for an early check-in, but we were unable to be accommodated. This is because the check out time is relatively late. We appreciated this when we left, but it was a bit inconvenient when we checked in (we'd arrived on a cruise ship).

It's a very, very good hotel. It's central and it's comfy and it's friendly.

On a general note, Vancouver has a LOT of homeless folk who will often approach you for financial assistance. Be polite! It's not their fault, mostly.
