Description: We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly to sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish, creating a new and exciting culinary experience. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Fly Over Canada, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus.

We had a great dinner. We brought out 2 kids and our waiter was excellent. He offered off menu rolls for our children, something they were familiar with. We ate the Aburi prime. The nigiri was delicious. We all felt that it was the best sushi we have had in a while. Would highly recommend.

In advance of our attending the Vancouver Jazz Festival, I had researched a number of restaurants and was intrigued by Miku. The chefs’ take on seafood was as creative as I expected and the decor and view were eye-popping. But my wife found the noise level way too high. And the hostess refused to seat us in a quieter patio area, saying it was reserved for walk-ups. Here’s my wife’s take on the experience:
Excessive noise marred
Pleasure in inventive food.
Won’t be coming back.

It was a nice noisy restaurant. Sushi was good but I didn’t like the signature paste on sushi. But it was a. Ice experience and there were different delicious choices

Lunch with two business associates this afternoon - my first time at this venue. We had a prior reservation which was useful - the place was packed and we still needed to wait for 10 minutes for a table.

An excellent location on Granville Street overlooking Canada Place and The Cruise Terminal.

We shared several dishes but started with Miso Soup which was piping hot and a good start to the meal. No alcohol - just tea and water.

A senior waiter was happy to recommend dishes for sharing - we ended up with mixed sashimi and sushi platters, and portions of beef, chicken, prawns and vegetables. All items were well plated and presented.

Good food, good company and an awesome location - a winning combination.

Thank Ashley A
