We had an amazing foodie experience in this foodie town. We started by watching a fantastic foodie documentary in the Shangrila Hotel's movie theatre (who knew?) whilst being served a bottomless glass of champagne and nibbling truffle-drenched Parmesan popcorn.
From there we went to their Market restaurant downstairs for a 5-course tasting menu with a choice of wine parings - the "standard" pairing for an additional $55 and the "premier" paring for $110. The chef spoke about how the menu was inspired by the documentary and the sommelier was on hand with all manner of crazy bits of information that all added to the altogether AWESOME experience. (The food was absolutely outstanding, too)
