Stayed for one night in a Signature Harbour Mountain View Room as an anniversary treat. Really loved the room, its decor and stunning view.

The bathroom was gorgeous, with the most glamourous, relaxing, spacious and comfortable jetted tub I have experienced to date. The tub is situated right next to the floor to ceiling windows (be careful you don't flash the office block opposite as the glass is clear and the switch for the automatic blinds is on the opposite side of the bathroom (a little niggle) - relaxing with a stunning view of Coal Harbour and the Northshore Mountains was spectacular (also watching the sunrise the following morning).

The magpie inside of me that loves anything 'shiny', was shamelessly attracted to the coloured lights in the tub that changed colour regularly and added a little bit of extra ambience (not to everyone's tastes I am sure but I enjoyed them).

The Pacific Rim is indeed not as traditional in decor as many of the other Fairmont properties in North America. I really love its contemporary decor. The lobby is wonderful with a fabulous fire place and some stunning pieces of artwork that have been very carefully considered and curated.

Buffet breakfast was excellent quality and I would recommend it.

The only quibble I would have is the standard of service. I have stayed at quite a few Fairmont properties over the last few years and I would say that the standard of service has fallen. It can still be excellent at times but isn't consistently so. e.g. Front Desk service at Pan Pacific was good but very poor at the Fairmont Chateau in Whistler. The waitress who served us in the lobby at the Pan Pacific was obviously having a bad day and it showed but the waitress who served us at breakfast was wonderful and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our breakfast.

I note that the L'Hermitage Hotel in Vancouver won the TripAdvisor title of best hotel in Canada and looking at what people have written about this hotel, it seems clear that it is their dedication to exceptional service for all their customers that have earned them this spot. Fairmont could perhaps learn from this.

Stayed here in December for one night, Once you pull up to the hotel, you are greeted by the doorman with a warm welcome, help you unload your vehicle, and guide you to check-in. Did not wait long, again, very welcoming and fairly quick. We had a harbourview room looking over the new convention centre, you must request this view! The room is gorgeous, modern, nice king bed, automatic curtains, LCD TV, touchpad switches, mini bar and drawer with conveniences, single shot codffee maker, closer had mini safe, umbrella for use, iron. The washroom had separate tub and glass rain shower, mirror in washroom had a built in TV. Last year they brought up complementary macaroons, this year was a bottle of spring water in a Fairmont Branded glass bottle. We attended an event in the convention centre across the street, there is an underground access tunnel that is open certain hours. The people and service here is what made the stay enjoyable. By the way, parking was $43.00 per night.

One of the best hotels we have visited at a very reasonable rate.

We stayed at the hotel over New Year for 3 nights and got the Gold level for $249 on Expedia. Our room on the 21st floor was beautiful, as the whole lobby, and everything - brand new from the Olympics. This was our first time on the gold level at a Fairmont, and we loved it. The view from the lounge was amazing, the food presentations where great and the staff could not have been any nicer or more helpful. In addition, we could get a driver to take us to locations in Vancouver, for dinner or for sight seeing. We felt so spoiled.

On New Year, we ate at Uri, which is an Asian restaurant that cooks with local ingredients. We had an amazing 6-course-meal. Some people around us had to wait for their food for a long time but we had no problem at all.

The bed was very comfortable, the room had huge windows looking onto the Bay and very cool art = back lit photographs, as well as automated blinds and lights as I had never seen them before. The bathroom was huge and gorgeous, with a TV built into the mirror. At night we got water and some delicious treats, presented beautifully.

My husband and I highly recommend this hotel for it's location, rooms and staff. A lot of great restaurants are in walking distance (ok, not short walks) and we walked all across the city from there.

If we visit Vancouver again (what a lovely city, so much to see), we will stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Gold level rocks

I have stayed many times at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and Waterfront and must say the Pacific Rim is miles above these two properties. It is modern, contemporary and very state of the art. The lobby lounge is a great place to hang out for drinks and people watching. The rooms are large, well appointed and comfortable. The tv in the bathroom is a great touch. The location is good especially for tourists. I usually come to Vancouver to shop and go for dinner so I prefer being closer to Robson/Burrard. I can't fault the service it's very good and very professional but after a recent stay at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia I must say the service at the Fairmont hotels lack a little in warmth and genuineness. Overall if you enjoy a modern contemporary hotel this is a good choice.

We stayed here for Christmas as a family treat before a hockey tournament. This hotel had staff that was extremely engaged in making sure our stay was perfect. When someone forgot their toothbrush, they got one. Forgot a name brand body wash? They found it for you. They just could not say "no" to anything but worked to make every detail right. This hotel epitomizes the service side of "luxury". It is a great hotel in a lot of ways, but the service truly sets it apart and makes it "five stars". You also can't beat the location and view. We loved everything about this hotel except the restaurant food, and when they heard that, it was taken off our bill and other food brought to our room. If you are looking for a luxurious experience, get a corner suite at this tremendous hotel. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

Room Tip: The corner suites are expensive, but worth every extra penny, as the views are phenomenal and they h...

Stayed Fairmont Pacific Rim for 2 nights for Christmas and Boxing day.
We had a long flight from Perth, Australia so we wanted really good rest in a comfortable & luxury room to get over the jet-lag before heading to active family ski holiday at Whistler. Fairmont Pacific Rim was perfect place to veggie-out.

The check in was breeze, we were taken straight to the Gold Floor reception for check-in and shown to the room within minutes on arriving the hotel.
Room is not big but well appointed with 2 Queen size beds which was ideal for family. Most impressed with bathroom with TV on the mirror, quality amenities, big shower and bathtub.
No complaint about the hi-tech lighting system as some travelers mentioned. They all worked perfectly well and very functional. Free Wi-Fi worked well in the room & Club lounge.

The Club lounge is very spacious and has breathtaking harbor view and serve complimentary meals throughout the day.
Breakfast were served 7am to 11am, then coffee & tea throughout the day, Canape with drinks between 5pm-7pm, then sweets (& chocolate fondue) was served between 8 pm and 9 pm.
It was raining most of the time and most shops and restaurants were closed over Christmas, So We spent most of our time in the room or lounge and take advantage of Club lounge which was well worth the extra we paid for the Gold Room. My only gripe was alcoholic drinks are not free. It's honor bar so you write down what you drink and they charge to the room. The price of alcoholic drinks were quite expensive (Glass of Moet $25 each, Glass of Wine $15 each, Bottle of beer $9 each ) which helped us not drinking too much, on the bright side. This was only hotel executive floor lounge we had to pay for the alcoholic drinks, but it must be standard for Fairmont.

Overall it was great place to stay we will definitely return to Fairmont Pacific Rim when we visit Vancouver again.

Room Tip: Pay little extra and stay at Gold Room, well worth it.
