We stay here every year when we visit Vancouver. It is right across the street from the convention centre and float plane terminal, which make it really convenient for us. It is a posh hotel, with gorgeous rooms, decorated in a modern theme, with jacuzzi baths, and TV's in the mirrors!

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Most recently during my birthday in February. Starting from the main entrance this hotel is just fantastic. The lobby has this consistent and wonderful smell. The lobby is large airy and modern. The hotel lobby bar is equally amazing, great good, great service, huge fireplace and nightly live music. The rooms are modern and each has a little iPad to control the lights, curtains, TV etc. if you stay on the 6th floor you have the option to have a pool level room which has an individual small yet cozy outdoor sitting area with a little table two chairs and a gas fireplace. A small gate separates this area from the outdoor pool deck. Just amazing. There is also a small hot-tub tucked away in the corner as well. Although this hotel could be considered pricey, approximately $350 per room and up, if you are looking for a fantastic location, classy, yet modern with a romantic flare, this is the only hotel to stay in. For a great night, you won't even have to leave the lobby!

We had the best experience at this hotel. From the Gold lounge to the complimentary car service. The workout facility was great and free! The room was nice and highly sophisticated. I opened the curtains from the bed with the iPad which controls everything in the room. It felt like a true vacation. The view is spectacular! The staff was so nice and professional. They remembered our names throughout our stay. The breakfast and the afternoon snack was delicious and over the top. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back to Vancouver and wouldn't stay anywhere else!!

I have stayed here on three separate occasions and have never had a bad experience. Luckily my partner has Fairmont's "President's Club" status, so we get upgraded rooms and a faster check-in process, but even without it, this is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and large (many with great water views), the pool/hot tub area is nice, and the spa is very calming. The hotel is dog-friendly and there is a beautiful waterfront park nearby for walks. They have three BMW 7-series free shuttle sedans that will take you to your favorite restaurants, etc. within reason which I really enjoy. Their garage parking is very expensive (~$42/night) but that is to be expected. I leave my car parked the entire time and walk everywhere or take their free shuttle.

Room Tip: Don't spend money on cabs, use their free BMW shuttle service, just make sure you add in 15 mins...

Stayed for first time recently in signature Ofuru room.Attended conference across street so very convenient.
Dislikes
We had many small glitches with the high tech room.At one point the system did not work and was down for about an hour until it was rebooted or something.
The TV HD channels kept freezing for split secs.Apparently something wrong with their Internet / cable provider?. Good thing we don't use on demand movies or required the use of the bathroom tv.Did not work the entire four night stay.
Jacuzzi tub good idea until try to use it.Difficult to get in and out and we are fairly young and agile.Cant imagine someone " older" .You have to climb into this large tub just to plug the drain manually.A design flaw.
Lobby bar pretty esp with fireplace on but when live band plays good luck trying to converse with anyone.
Our room keys only worked intermittently and had to be reprogrammed at least three times.Annoying.
We love hi tech but its a letdown when so many minor things go wrong and you pay premium prices for room upgrade.
Liked- easy friendly check in
Overall great staff.Rooms were well lit and the views of the park ,mountains, city and water were flawless!
Rooms were great size and housekeeping did great job maintaining the rooms clean.
Nice location close to Stanley Park and Seawall,Gastown,Yaletown,Robson street shopping.
Always easy getting taxis.
Overall would give hotel another try and do recommend.
I think the regular water view rooms would be enough rather than upgrading to Ofuru rooms or suites.

Room Tip: Any standard room with water view will be nice.Dont pay extra for upgraded rooms.

We live in Vancouver and have stayed at most of the upper end properties in the city (from time to time my wife and I will enjoy a weekend staycation without the kids). The Fairmont Pacific Rim is heads and shoulders above its sister hotels (Waterfront, Hotel Vancouver, Vancouver Airport) as well as its luxury competitors (Pan Pacific, Sutton Place, Loden, Shangri-La and even Rosewood). The luxury competition that approaches its service level (Rosewood, Sutton Place etc.) cannot compete with the Fairmont Pacific Rim's vantage point overlooking Burrard Inlet). Also, the rooms at the Pacific Rim are virtually brand new and are kitted out with the latest electronic features. The only caveat is that the advanced Lutron-type lighting system that they have may be slightly complicated for someone who hasn't come across this type of lighting. Fortunately, we have a similar system in our home so it wasn't too much trouble. Service levels, room size, amenities, health facilities were all top notch. The only fly in the ointment is that given the pricing vs quality of the dining experience we had at Oru. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there (on different occasions). This isn't a restaurant review, so I won't belabor the point, but in a nutshell, if you're looking for luxury accommodations -- this is it. If you are looking for fine dining -- you'll get better bang for the buck from many other choices in Vancouver (even in just the downtown area). The only exceptional experience I've had dining-wise was a custom-ordered sushi experience that a friend arranged after work, but it was definitely an off-menu experience. The other point to note for the gelato fans out there is that one of the best and globally award-winning gelato places in the world (Bella Gelataria) is located at one corner of the building -- but it is independently owned. The cognoscenti will likely order the hazelnut or coconut affogato. Just ask around!

Room Tip: It's by the water -- no point settling for a city view room.

Just another great stay in a great hotel. The service is top notch and I thought that since my last stay a year ago the service had improved (if that is possible). There was a slight issue with the cleaning of the rooms and hallways last year, but that has been taken care of. The hi tech of the room is one thing that keeps bring me back.

The Ipad in the room with the ability to control the heating and lighting of the room as well as order service took my attention away from my wife for at least 15 minutes. So nice to swipe the Ipad on and see a personalized welcome with my name on it.

We had one issue during our stay, and that was more than taken care of when I mentioned at check out.

If you can afford it, stay here.
