“Great city and hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont after a wonderful cruise to Alaska. We spend three days and explored the city on foot and bike. We used the free bike rental and found it a great way to explore Stanley Park. The staff and service are top notch!

Fairmont properties are run perfectly. This very modern hotel is extremely comfortable and situated in a perfect location. The property overlooks the harbor and mountains and is right in the heart of downtown. Additionally it is only a 15 minute walk max to Gastown, Granville Isl, and Stanley Park but only if you don't want a complimentary ride in the hotel's BMW. Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The bar scene is great as well. The best past: the Ofuro Rooms - Japanese soaker tub overlooking the harbor. The rooms were very quiet and well appointed. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ofuro room northward facing coal harbor and he mountains. Room 1810

I stayed at the Pacific Rim for one night while in town to attend a concert with my best friend. Upon check in, the staff were very friendly, and went out of their way to assist in any way possible. We checked in with Ana who was great and knowledgeable about the area. She even took the time to give us a small tour of the lobby and walked us to the elevator. Upon getting to our room we were really impressed! We had a pool view suite, which had a small patio with a table and chairs, that had a pool access gate. This room is amazing!

We had dinner at ORU their signature restaurant, and our meals were fantastic! Prior to dining there, we had checked out their menu online, and we were already excited to stay. I'm vegan, and the waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great suggestions. Vegan or not, you have to try the risotto as well as the coconut chocolate brulée, well worth it!

We checked out the next morning and we were sad to leave. Again, we checked out with Ana, who was once again very pleasant. After check out, we went and made fast friends with Giovanni in Giovanne. Bought some amazing olive sourdough bread and ciabatta bread which we had in the restaurant the night before. If you are looking for a good strong Italian coffee, do not go anywhere else!

We normally stay at the Pan Pacific or the Sheraton Wall Centre, but given the outstanding service we received here, the Fairmont Pacific Rim will now be our #1 choice! Can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Upgrade to the pool view suites! A nice treat!

One night before boarding a cruise ship. The room was terrific with a magnificent view of the bay and our cruise ship. Breakfast was superb. This was all exceeded by the service. We will stay here every time we are in Vancouver.

Room Tip: Top floor overlooking the bay.

We stayed one night in this amazing new Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, BC. What a treat. Everything was state of the art: the curtains closed and lights turned on or off at the touch of a button. We had a view of the harbour and while we were there, a cruise ship docked outside our window. We enjoyed a meal in the downstairs bar area and listened to the live music being performed there. It was pretty romantic.

The bathroom was simply perfect: a large soaking tub with bath salts; a separate shower with an overhead rain soaking shower head; a toilet in in a separate enclosure; and finally (wait for it) a television in the bathroom mirror. How cool is that?

The staff was amazingly helpful and wonderfully amiable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Three white BMW 7 series cars waited outside to whisk guests off to some event or dinner (we didn't make use of them.) After we checked in, one staff member came up to the room with us to show us how everything worked. For techno-novices such as my wife and me, that was perhaps the nicest touch of all. She spent at least fifteen minutes explaining the features of the room and chatting about this and that. At least we knew we couldn't short circuit anything and plunge the building into inky darkness.

Of course all of these modern features, luxurious appointments and elegant public areas came at a price which was rather steep. Even parking was close to $50.00 a night. But we wanted to splurge for one night, and all things considered, I think we chose a great place to stay if even for just one night.

Room Tip: If you would like to see the water, you must pay a bit more. We did and we were not disappointed.

We travel a lot and this hotel has great rooms and is obviously the "buzzy" place to be. Lots of action in the lobby bar every night. The corner room overlooking the harbor is the best. We would return in a heartbeat!

We had stayed in Vancouver a few months ago and were disapointed by a Fairmont property there--so booked at this new hotel with some trepidation. That said, we were blown away by the Pacific Rim. Modern, elegant, high-tech, high-touch--all great. The lovely cocktail lounge with elegant wait staff were great introductions. The room had all sorts of high tech gadgets and was beautiful. The hotel restaurant was terrific--with an excellent dinner AND an unusually good breakfast buffet. We availed ourselves of the free bikes and toured Stanley Park--always a treat.

Most of all, the staff was remarkable. From the doormen, to the cocktail waiters, to the people at the front desk and one we met on the elevator. We stay in many Fairmonts throughout the US and Canada and have noticed a general deterioration in service over the past couple of years. This hotel is definitely the exception. Really wonderful. The management should be doing training for all other Fairmonts.
