We used the rocky mountaineer train to go from Vancouver to Whistler. The outside of the train is beautiful! and the inside is comfortable and roomy. We got breakfast and everything is great. Such a great way to see all of the scenery on the way to Whistler. And the open carriage for taking photos and videos is amazing, but can get very cold with the wind so take a jacket!

One of our dreams was to travel on the Rocky Mountaineer - this year we realised our dream and travelled from Vancouver to Jasper with an overnight stop in Kamloops. We loved every minute of our journey 'through the clouds' - our expectations were high and we weren't disppointed in any way. The experience was enhanced by the very friendly and helpful RM personnel who made sure of each passenger's happiness and comfort.

The trip on the Rocky Mountaineer was our sandwich filling between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies tour. And what a filling! It had been my dream for a while and this was my retirement trip of a lifetime! We travelled from Vancouver to Jasper during September on Gold Leaf and I'm still getting over it! Pure decadence for two days! From the wonderful staff, fantastic food, scenery, domed coach, being met at Kamloops by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, to the hotel in Kamloops, our fellow travellers (some of whom we kept meeting on various tours through the Rockies), roomy seats and the free bar (!) it just exceeded my expectations. Would I do it again? Yes please!!!

A most pleasant and professionally organised tour.
How lucky Canada is, and how lucky were we, for having such a beautiful country and giving us the opportunity to enjoyed such a excellent experience. Professional staff, great food and you were treated as a special guest. place.
I would recommend that, if given the opportunity to visit this picture-book place... you should definitely put this in your 'bucket list'.

This was one of the highlights of our fantastic North American oddessy. We travelled Gold Leaf from Vancouver to Calgary in September. The staff were great and the weather fantastic. Having the open air platform downstairs meant I could take heaps of photos unimpeded by glass. The transfer at Kamloops was well organised. Although there were lots of freight trains ( the grain harvest season was in full force), we did not spend too much time waiting for them. Apparently the RM gets priority over CN and CP freight trains but even so we were on the road for 15 hours on day 2. Because we wouldn't be arriving in Calgary until 2230, they gave us a light dinner, with wine of course, this is not generally on the menu. There was a great group of punters travelling and many of us congregated downstairs on the platform and we had a good chat and a laugh .The funniest thing was when a grain train was leaving a siding, there was a locomotive mid train making a hell of a racket and some of the punters got a fright as they weren't expecting it. I read some of the poor reviews and all I can say is, get over it, most of us love the RM experience.
