Overall our stay was very good, the bed was really comfortable - one of the best I have slept in. The rooms were advertised as having flat screen tv's (technically they are correct, except they are the older bulky TV' s (colour sucked) - not the lightweight TV's that most of the population take for granted.
If you are staying in the RH tower there is No direct access to the pool - be prepared to walk through the lobby in bath robe, or change at the pool.
The Fire station is located close by and as you are located in the downtown core there seems to be non-stop sirens from the Fire engines and ambulances.
Restaurant was very good, but expensive unless you join the sutton place wine club. Only one card is accepted per table which if occupied by 2 people results in a 50% savings (ie B'fast was $54 for 2 which was reduced to ~$27 on production of membership card....). If more than 2 folks only one meal if free.
Overall I would stay there again - the location in the downtown core is excellent!

Room Tip: Get a room in the LH side with direct access to the pool if you intend to use the hot tub and pool.

Stayed at Sutton Place July 9-10. Booked blind through Hotwire.com (chose downtown Vancouver 5*) and got a super deal. Walking distance to great restaurants, entertainment, waterfront, art gallery. One negative was check-in person seemed a little snooty & we assumed it was because we paid less than half price thru hotwire and she knew it. She told us "our rate" didn't allow for early check-in. They charge $14 per day for WiFi. They should include it in the rate. I used my 3G instead. But after that everything was great. Beautiful clean rooms, swimming pool, helpful concierge & door staff. Onsite restaurant is pricey. Lots of other restaurants in the area to choose from though. Recommend the Big (red) hop-on-hop off bus tour if you're new to Vancouver. Purchase through Tourism office on waterfront and get 2 days for price of 1 day (Adults $38, Seniors $35). Pretty good tour of city plus bus tour of Stanley Park. After touring whole city, choose places to revisit. Buses comes every 15-20 minutes & stops right in front of hotel. Hop-on & off where-ever and when-ever. Tourism office has other great deals & coupons for freebies. It's worth a visit. Take the Canada Line LRT to/from airport for only $3.50. Sure beats $90 cab fare and it's fast & clean. Vancouver is a beautiful city. Will visit again.

For little more, and sometimes less, than what other outfits charge, nothing else compares to the courtesy, cleanliness, and overall superlative standard set and delivered by the Sutton. The staff are all gracious and efficient. The meals are outstanding, and with the Wine Club Card, the best value in downtown Vancouver. Even the street food vendor out front, who has no association with the establishment, is top drawer. The best bar, unless you came in to watch a big screen TV. I don't like TV. Scotch, I like. Don't scrimp on lesser offerings. It's a poor way to save $25. Treat yourself to true 5 star accoutrements and you'll feel like it's all worth it. And isn't that why you went on vacation, anyway?

Room Tip: Don't hesitate to upgrade. The basic rooms are nice, but the nicer ones are much nicer. The nort...

Sutton Place Hotel and Grand Residences are the perfect locale for visiting Vanvouver, BC. You are steps away from fantastic shopping on Robson St and Pacific Centre, the staff are very friendly and very helpful. The doorman Stuart is very professional and helpful as are the rest of his staff. The 2 bedroom condo is so good for us as we are always picking up friends/relatives from the airport and staying a night to show off the beautiful city of Vancouver before we head home to Vancouver Island.

The decore is first class in the reception area and rooms. You are often in the elevator with a movie star as there are many filming in Vancouver at all times.

We took Amtrak into Vancouver for a long weekend. I had made the pre-paid reservation on the Amtrak website 2 weeks prior to arrival. We tried checking in a couple of hours early and were told there was no reservation and there were no rooms ready. We were asked to come back at check in time and by then everything would be straightened out. We sat down in the lobby and after about 20 minutes the desk person came over to say they had found the res and everything was OK. It was under the first name rather than the last ( not according to my email reservation confirmation), and they now have a room ready.

The concierge was very helpful but they are in a tiny little closet-like space in the lobby where there is no accomodation for sitting.

We got locked out of our room on the second day. The only explanation is that both of our cards must have been corrupted by something in our pockets.

Would I go back - yes. Great room and we had a nice view from the 8th floor. The fitness room is one of the best equipped I've ever seen in a hotel. Location is good for just about everything and just a block from Robson and Pacific Place for shopping. There is also a dining room waitress named Bridgett worth her weight in gold.

Visited this hotel from July 6-9. It was a great stay, great service, the room was clean the bathroom was very nice. My only two problem was that you had to pay for internet ($14) a night. But because we were there to see the city we wouldn't of used it much. Another thing I saw, they didn't have a flatscreen TV, considering the hotel we were in, I thought we would of got a good TV. Another small problem was paying for parking, but I didn't pay for it so it wasn't much of a problem for me.

At the end of the day paying $300+ for three nights, I would think all of this would of been included.

Room Tip: If you don't have a room your satisfied with, ask them to move you. We asked and they did exactl...
