“Lives up to the Four Seasons brand”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

I stayed here for business. The hotel definitely lived up the FS brand. The staff were wonderful. The room was great. Restaurant was great. They lent me an umbrella when it rained. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I had spent three and half weeks traveling around Canada and decided to chill out at the Four Seasons for the last eight nights of our vacation. Having traveled extensively, we had never stayed at a Four Seasons before and we were keen to see how the other half live. We choose this hotel because we got good deal through the Trivago website.
On arrival we were met at the reception on the first floor by a hotel representative who welcomed us by name, which was a nice touch. This has only happened to us once before, at the Shangi La in Hong Kong, and it did make us feel that we were important customers.
We had booked a standard room, but after a viewing, settled on an upgrade on a suite, room 1010. Lovely, airing rooms with a large comfortable bed.
The hotel had provided a large blueberry muffin/cake that went down well with a lovely cup of tea. We requested several items during our stay and nothing was too much bother. We requested a fridge for our use, kettle & milk for our tea, weighing scales for our cases, you name, we got it.
Both the Reception and Concierge staff were extremely helpful and the room maids were polite and chatty. I wish I could afford to stay at Four Season Resorts wherever I go.
With that in mind, we did not eat at the Yew restaurant, it is quite pricey, as you would expect at a first class hotel. On our arrival we met up with our friends who were also staying at the hotel. We had a few drinks in the bar and were amazed to find that we had managed to spend $136 in an hour or two!
The hotels location is good if you want to be in the centre of the city. It is only a short walk from the harbour and there is great shopping all around. You only have to go down to the ground floor and there is an entrance to the Pacific Mall, ideal.
It is also surrounded by a number of restaurants and cafes. We ate breakfast at three different cafe/restaurants all with a five minutes walk of the hotel. Two were on Howe St. (turn right out the hotels main entrance, up the street two or blocks on the left hand side) and one 'The Bellaggio' was on Hornby St. left out of the hotel. All were very good and within our price range $10-15 for breakfast.
For nearby restaurants for an evening meal, you won't beat Hy's Seafood & Steakhouse on Hornby, but its pricey and you need to book. There is also Keg steakhouse just around the corner, I think its on Dunsmuir St. If you are on a budget or just fancy a takeaway, there is a Food Court in the Pacific Mall downstairs and here the food is varied and very reasonably priced.
The hotel has a gym and an inside/outside heated pool. The sun loungers are nicely padded and not those cheap white plastic types, most hotels seem to use. There are a couple of four poster type covers for some loungers, should wish to avoid the wind or sun. As expected, there were plenty of clean towels were available.
All in all, a great stay at a lovely hotel.

I have stayed here a number of times over the years on business and was looking forward to coming back for the start of our vacation. It's been five years or so since I last visited, however, and although we had a good stay, the experience was slightly underwhelming. The decor is looking a little tired (lots of 80s brickwork); the food at Yew was good but not outstanding; the pool area could really do with an update (poured concrete... nice). But, on the plus side, the service was exceptionally good and our room was great value. The location of the hotel is also excellent - 10 minutes walk to the main tourist drag on the waterfront, and in the middle of great shopping and entertainment. The City Center stop on the Canada Line train from the airport is literally 3 minutes' walk away. There are probably more interesting and design-led alternatives, and to be honest we would probably give somewhere else a nice try next time, but it was a good stay overall.

The hotel location is perfect for getting around and you don't need a car. Close to shops and restaurants and a quick walk or taxi ride to most places
Typical of FS the service was great and kids always feel welcomed. My boys loved to chocolate moose lollipops and meals at YEW were great with a good kids menu and wiki sticks to entertain them
The pool is indoor and out door so if you go during a warm time it's a great thing to enjoy when you need a break from travel activities
We had a nice city view and of course to rooms are nice with the typical comfortable FS beds! Fitness center and lounge area also nice plus. We enjoyed it and would definitely stay again

Great hotel with absolutely impeccable service.
The fitness center is connected to a gorgeous garden which makes the work out even better. Coffee is served until 10:00 am at the fitness center (good coffee!).
The main lobby, hallways and the elevators need a bit of updating, but the size of rooms makes up for the old décor! Twice a day cleaning of the rooms are a plus as well. Very nice and courteous staff. Loved the umbrellas!

Room Tip: We requested a high floor room and got a room on the 15th floor facing the back since we are very li...

We stayed here for three nights after arriving in Vancouver from London. The hotel was lovely, welcoming and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We chose two rooms that were interconnecting and they were spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is in a very convenient location - close to the Sky Train and within walking distance of Canada Place and Stanley Park. The hotel restaurant, Yew, was amazing and catered for the tastes of two picky children and more discerning adults - you have to love a place that provides chicken fingers and fries for the kids and delicious, fresh seafood for the adults. All the staff were great with our boys and gave us lots of suggestions of places to take them in Vancouver. They also had a very handy children's playroom located close to the restaurant. The pool was also fantastic - the lovely staff their made sure our boys were able to borrow some goggles as well as we had managed to leave ours behind. All in all, a great stay and a superb start to our holiday in BC.

We stayed here in July and were very impressed with the hotel itself. The location is excellent as you can walk to the oceanfront, to Stanley Park, the Aqua Bus, the Sky Train and to great shopping on Robson Street. The rooms were very nice and had plenty of space. The health club and pool area are by far the nicest I've seen in a long time. The only complaint I have is that the management of the hotel was not what I would expect at this level. After making a mistake on our bill by double charging us for the 5 rooms we were using and causing us to work things out with our credit card company, the manager simply said "Sorry". For a hotel of this caliber, I would have expected more.
