This is a good place to have a nice view of Vancouver downtown and the north shore mountains. In May, the Rhododendrons are blooming, and colour of the garden adds to its charm. It's not very big, and probably can be toured in 1/2 to 1 hour, unless you want to have a picnic on the grass area. It's a popular spot for wedding photos in the summer. The conservatory (fee required) may be interesting to those who live in the prairies or NWT and have not seen tropical plants, but if you are from Southeast Asia, don't bother, as these are just wild flowers in your backyard.

You can't beat the price (free) for visiting the gardens here. The walking paths are easy and many specimens are labeled. Go enjoy the outdoors. Short walk from the train or easy to get to by bus.

Queen Elizabeth park is on top of the highest hill with in the city limits. On a clear day it has a great view of the city. Unfortunately I saw it in the rain but it was still nice. They have some great walking trails and beautiful gardens. It is worth seeing plus the Conservatory is on the top of the hill (it has a small fee) and there is a nice restaurant (Seasons) that over looks the park.

Queen Elizabeth Park is one of our favourite spots to go in the spring. The tulips and rhododendrons are amazing when they bloom in the spring. You also get a nice view looking at downtown Vancouver. It is a great shot for those of us who are photo enthusiasts. If you park at the entrance at the bottom hill its free if you park at the top of the hill it isn't.

If you can't get to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, then see Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver. We took the SkyTrain from our downtown hotel and it was a short ride. The Park is beautiful in so many ways...artistic landscape of trees, flowers, ponds, bridges, city views, etc. Beautiful.
