The flowers, trees, paths, views are breathtaking at every season. This is free to walk around with family, with your loved one or if you are on your own to enjoy nature. I really enjoy coming here to spend the day. There is a pond to see ducks and at the top there is an observatory and a restaurant with a perfect lookout to view our majestic mountains and city. Have fun and enjoy.

It so happened that we went there next day after visiting Butchart Gardens. Pretty much the same idea (trhe sunken garden) but cozier, nicer and absolutely free. Don't get me wrong, the Butchart Gardens are much, much bigger, very colorful and mostly beautiful but also has this very commercial feel.
Gardens are supposed to touch one's soul more than one's pocket. It's a matter of taste of course, but given a chance I would go to Queen Elizabeth Park again but not to the Butchart...

This is a good place to have a nice view of Vancouver downtown and the north shore mountains. In May, the Rhododendrons are blooming, and colour of the garden adds to its charm. It's not very big, and probably can be toured in 1/2 to 1 hour, unless you want to have a picnic on the grass area. It's a popular spot for wedding photos in the summer. The conservatory (fee required) may be interesting to those who live in the prairies or NWT and have not seen tropical plants, but if you are from Southeast Asia, don't bother, as these are just wild flowers in your backyard.

You can't beat the price (free) for visiting the gardens here. The walking paths are easy and many specimens are labeled. Go enjoy the outdoors. Short walk from the train or easy to get to by bus.
