Great location, great hotel!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 31 May 2019
Arrived tired after a long flight, reception staff were friendly, courteous and informative. The hotel was well located in a pleasant neighbourhood and convenient for walking to Canada Place and downtown, Stanley Park and English Bay.

Room was well appointed, quiet and comfortable and we particularly liked the eco credentials of the hotel, especially the provision of refillable (non plastic) bottles for (free) drinking water.

We stayed here for 3 nights altogether in May. We initially arrived in a hire car before dropping it off at Vancouver Airport. There was a very useful car port at the side of the hotel where we were able to park the car and unload our luggage very easily. The staff in this hotel were all extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room we stayed in for the first too nights was a good size very comfortable bed and useful facilities like a fridge, iron, ironing board safe and bathrobes. There was also a decent gym which is located on the second floor. On each floor was also a water tap with still water and mineral water and you had 2 water bottles in the room which you could fill up and put in the fridge. There were 2 restaurants attached to the hotel Forage for fine dining - very nice food if a little expensive and Timber which we didn't try. There is also free wine tasting every evening between 5pm and 6pm well worth a try. The location of this hotel in Downtown Vancouver is excellent and the sheer amount of eateries in the area is mind boggling. We ate in the Bubble world restaurant directly across the road from the hotel and this was great value for money - if you like Dim Sum and soups you will enjoy this restaurant - the portions are massive so don't order too many!! The one thing that was a drawback about this hotel was the late check in time of 4pm but on the plus side, check out time of 12pm was very welcome. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

This review is mainly to highlight the great service from the staff to accommodate my family and my needs.

When I booked my room (for business travel), I don't remember if i had asked for a king size bed or two smaller beds (usually they ask). This time, it was of particular importance because my wife and daughter were coming with me and we would have needed a king sized bed so we could sandwich my daughter between us (or she would fall off) and the smaller beds (2 in a room) are not big enough for all of us.

Anyhoo, upon seeing that my room had two small beds, we asked if we could get a room with a king bed - note, i was on a government rate (for work) so typically the rooms are the most basic ones and are limited in number.

There were no more basic rooms available BUT they had given us an upgraded room at NO extra charge (as any additional fees would be troublesome for me as my org is paying for it) - the new room was beautiful and the perfect size for us.

My wife notes the inroom breakfast was awesome as well.

Anyhow, all in all, the staff went out of their way to help us out, without adding a fee, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

If you are travelling to Vancouver and want at neat hotel, in a great location, give them a call.

Good job everyone - thanks for your great service.

Cheers

An awesome spot, free wine tasting from 5-6pm, clean well appointed rooms. Amazing spot with two great restaurants, and Robson Street shopping on your doorstep. I didn't realize how close it would be to all downtown amenities.

Room tip: Get a corner room, they are great and quiet

Everyone was friendly, good clean rooms, great food and great beer,
I like the touch of art throughout the hotel, and the easy access to the restraint,
the valet is convenient, and the staff assisted by pointing out interesting spots to visit in the area.
