...with the whole save the planet spiel. After a long day of travel you get to your room and want to unwind and relax. You look for that complimentary bottle of water and instead there is a sign saying in order to reduce the amount of waste we have stopped providing complimentary bottled water in your room. The tap is good enough. Seriously? And to add insult to injury they have two bottles of $7 water sitting right there next to this sign.
Vancouver is a wonderful city and they are leading the way in responsible environmental initiatives. Thats awesome. But this is going to far and you can't help but feel the hotel is taking advantage of the progressive culture of the city to save a few bucks while totally inconveniencing their guests. You pay premium pricers to stay at these properties and this approach, which is unique to this property, is ridiculous. I'm a Starwood Platinum member but on my next trips I will be staying at the Fairmont where they don't treat their guests like this. Ridiculous.
