“Great Stay”
Reviewed 25 September 2011

We loved the Stay in the St. Regis Hotel. The Staff was very friendly and obliging. It has a complimentary Internet Access and international phone calls are for free. The Sleeping Room and the bathroom were very clean and big enough. The Breakfast was served and we could choose between 3 breakfast menus. The hotel is in Vancouver Downtown and you can reach many tourist features by a short walk (Lookout Tower, Skytrain, Gastown, Harbour, Chinatown, Robson Street, Stanley Park...). The Hotel offers a parking possibility for 25CAD per night, but there are also several car parks next to the hotel which are cheaper (www.easypark.ca). Recommendation: 100%

The staff left the reception desk to help the cabbie unload our luggage (and did it again when we departed a couple of days later), they stored it for us because we arrived in the morning, they arranged for us to take a tour of Vancouver (recommended) while waiting for our room to be cleaned. A regular restaurant type hot breakfast was free with the room (anything you wanted on the menu), free WiFi, use of computers, and free International phone service, newly remodeled rooms with delux baths, and did I mention how clean everything was? Handy to other restaurants, sky train, and sights to see. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are large and sunny. Only one small slow elevator but the wait was not long.

Our travel agent booked this hotel for us to use at the end of the two day Rocky Mountaineer Train trip from Calgary. We were not expecting anything exceptional, but were we surprised! At first they could not find our reservation, so to make up for that, they gave us a corner room that was beautiful! The bed was excellent, neither one of us wanted to get out of our unbelieveable showers, it was within easy walking distance of most activities, and there was a wonderful full breakfast that came with the room. It is also a block from the Skytrain depot that goes directly to the airport! We also had a question as to where to leave our luggage until we left for the airport in the afternoon. They offered for us to leave everything in our room until we left which was after checkout time. They kept saying not to worry about the time, just have fun! For dinner, they made a suggestion for an excellent restaurant within walking distance. We will definitely go back here on our next trip to Vancouver, which we hope won't be too long!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are great because they have extra window.

We were 2 couples staying for 3 nights before joining a cruise down the West coast of Canada and America and chose hotel after reading the reviews and we loved it!

The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the rooms were clean very well equipped and the beds extremely comfortable. The breakfast was a bonus in North America and cooked to order. The location was great, near to the station, Canada Place port and in walking distance from the harbour and Stanley Park - we just couldn't fault it especially as it had so much character and charm unlike the chains and what other hotel gives you free international calls. We phoned family in England and didn't need to watch the time ticking by.

Well done St Regis - a great find and a very reasonable price too.

I booked into this hotel while attending a convention at the far more expensive Fairmont. Overall, it was a very positive experience. I had a spacious corner room--with one bed--and especially enjoyed the free WiFi and the large, full breakfast that was included with the room. Portions were generous and the wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. The young man at the front desk was friendly--albeit with a slightly sarcastic edge--and was very helpful with restaurant recommendations. The other desk staff were also very helpful. Despite the attractive, modern refurbishing, though, there was an old-hotel musty odor that occasionally seeped through in my room and in the lobby. And on Saturday night, I could hear considerable street noise. Still, given the complimentary WiFi, the full breakfast, and the attractive rates compared to other properties in the area, I'd definitely consider booking again.

I have traveled for over 20 years for business. The St.Regis Vancouver is without a doubt the best experience I've had so far. The staff at this hotel is superlative. I didn't meet anyone there who didn't go out of their way to assist me. I had been scheduled to move to the hotel at the convention center once our convention got under way and was enjoying the St.Regis so much, I decided to stay and they went above and beyond to accommodate me. The rooms are cosy with comfortable beds and great bathrooms. The cooked to order breakfast is better than most restaurant breakfasts. Location is perfect, rail station right around corner, nice short stroll to convention center. Incredible value. If you are going to Vancouver and can get a room at this hotel, grab it and feel lucky and smarter than the schmucks in the mega chains.
