“Best Boutique Hotel”

What a pleasant surprise! This smaller less expensive Vancouver hotel was a gem. The rooms were spacious, clean, modern and had everything a more expensive hotel would offer. The location was terrific with trains and buses close by. It was well within walking distance to the waterfront and Robson St. What set this hotel apart from others we had stayed in during our visits to Vancouver between tours, is the friendly and helpful front desk staff. They could not have done more to make our stay perfect. The only negative aspect was the breakfast. The hotel provided a good selection but the quality of the fresh fruit and fruit juice could use some improvement. the hotel did not have a pool or a guy, however full use of a nearby gym was offered.

Room Tip: Smaller hotels are quieter.

We stayed here one night then travelled through the Rockies and returned for two nights. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - especially Ryan who gave us lots I'd helpful info, remembered us on our return and once again helped us with places to eat and activities for the next day. The rooms are nice and the facilities good. Breakfast is a little too formal - would prefer buffet style. Overall a great place to stay.

We were going on a cruise and needed to stay in Vancouver for a night prior to our cruise and we chose the St. Regis on 9/14. Happily, we stayed at the St. Regis. Ryan walked outside to meet our taxi and was very attentive and helpful. He offered suggestions as to what to see, gave us a map, held our bags as we arrived prior to check in. He provided top notch customer service. Our stay was perfect from the lovely room, to the location... a safe downtown walkable area, card keyed elevator access to the rooms, free WiFi and a complementary hot breakfast the next morning in their downstairs area, and the bathroom had a marvelous soaker tub. It was a great experience and we would stay there again.

What and quaint and central place to stay! A large number of attractions are an easy walk. And there is a espresso bar nearby so that the drip 'coffee' across the road can be avoided. The hotel is heritage with very contemporary facilities. Being a visitor to Canada with its interesting cell phone structure, the free long distance calls were a welcome surprise. The staff are top notch. Anything that we asked about local attractions was answered with great detail, right down to bus route numbers. The SR was an excellent choice of accommodation for a few days in Van. The breakfast choices were also very good. A good hotel run by staff that genuinely seem to care about your stay.

Room Tip: Careful of the rooms that overlook adjacent roofs.

We had a lovely room well lit with windows on both sides. Very tastefully decorated with a lovely shower room.

We had Breakfast as a part of our deal, it was excellent with plenty to be had, three different overall choices, each with 3 or 4 options therein.

I have to mention the Staff though, we were on an extensive trip through Canada and I have to say the staff at the St. Regis were the best staff we had met at any time through our trip.

They cannot wait to greet and chat to you and make you feel welcome. From Front Desk to Restaurant to Room Staff ... all very nice and extremely helpful.

I find that in Canada Customer Service is King but I have to say that the staff here were exceptional ... thank you.

The Hotel is in easy reach of the shore walk to Stanley Park, which is a great walk if the weather is good, we saw plenty of wildlife around the Lost Lagoon Lake.

It is also surrounded by plenty of good shopping and eating options. The Cinema is about 20 mins away if walking.

Bear in mind though, you are staying in the middle of a city, so there will be noise from the street on a Friday and Saturday night, this did not disturb us too much, however, other lighter sleepers may be kept awake.

4th time to Vancouver and this is a gem. Clean & quirky but with quality fittings and furnishings. Free worldwide calls was a strange but pleasant surprise! The bar area is large and thoughtfully designed with multi level and soft lighting. It is open to the public which gives additional life and makes for good people watching!

We had a Junior Suite which was our treat. Breakfast is a bit regimented for my liking, I much prefer the more relaxed arrangement that a buffet seems to promote so I can sort myself out, but I only want basic continental fare so anyone wanting a full breakfast may think differently. On our first day, they brought everything together so, by the time we'd finished our cereal and fruit salad, the toast was stone cold. Subsequently we asked for it to be split and enjoyed our toast a lot more.
There were two nice big TVs in the suite but unfortunately we were only provided with the cable remote which meant that any TV feature we needed (like correcting the aspect ratio and setting the timer - the timer is very important when you're jet lagged and trying to sleep) was only accessible via a fiddly panel on the side of the set which, on the set in the bedroom, had to be done by feel as you couldn't easily see it.
When it came to leave, the bill was wrong. It was only $20 out but wrong none the less. It really should have been sorted out more quickly than it was and resulted in us leaving at least 20 minutes later than we had wanted to.
We paid a lot of money for this hotel so I think I'm entitled to be a bit more picky with my review than I normally would.
This is located in a pretty much perfect position for exploring downtown Vancouver (note that Vancouver is quite hilly and The St Regis is very nearly at the highest spot in downtown so wherever you go you will be going up again at the end of the day). We arrived from the airport and the stroll from the train station is really just two sides of a block. There's a SkyTrain station even nearer. We had a room at the front of the hotel and there is quite a bit of traffic noise but this is a central downtown location. I would recommend The St Regis Bar and Grill attached the hotel It's a sports bar where we probably would have ended up even if we weren't staying at the hotel. The meals we had were very nice and there was a decent selection of local beers available.
A nice hotel, just make sure you check your bill properly!

Room Tip: Probably try and get one round the back if possible.
