I cannot say enough nice things about the St Regis. They have an excellent, attentive staff; the rooms are the cleanest I ever experienced, full internet and long distance phone service included, and finally, a full cooked to order breakfast. All this at a very reasonable rack rate. The hotel is in the center of a town that is as clean as the hotel, with most sights within walking distance. My wife and I had an extraordinary three days in Vancouver, in no small measure to the quality and exceptionally high standards of the St Regis.

From the time we walked in we were made welcome. Juan at the front desk made check in easy, and even recommended Scoozi for afternoon snacks. The room was wonderful. It took a bit to figure out t how to work the lights but once done it was all good. The coffee table in front of the pullout was very heavy to move, but according to the son, it was comfy. The breakfast that is included is off menu and very generous. Don't forget to tip the wait Staff. Its a DT hotel and I was pleasantly surprised that the noise level in the room was not what I expected! Great visit and I hope to be back soon!

We stayed here for 3 days. The service is AMAZING the rooms are very nice and cozy.
I recommend booking restaurant threw them because you might have a little surprise appetizer from the concierge at your table. Bottles of water in the room every day that really is appreciated in the heated days. Bus stop close to hotel that takes you to Stanley Park, kits beach and the famous Market Place. About 15 minutes.

Location

The St. Regis is centrally located in downtown Vancouver, next door to the Granville Skytrain Station, and a block away from the City Center Station and a short walk to the Waterfront Station. It's walking distance to the Waterfront area, Convention Center, Robson St., and so on. For essentials, there's a 7/11 around one corner and a drugstore around the other, a Starbucks at the corner of the building, a TIm Hortons, A&W, and a fusion Asian restaurant across, and more in the neighborhood, plus a mall and a large department store.

Rooms

The hotel is a wonderful heritage building but the interiors are absolutely up to date with desk-level sockets for one's gadgets, Wi Fi, and FREE INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL CALLS! Amazing! There's no minibar (see above re: 7/11), but the hotel provides complimentary Fiji bottled water and yummy chocolate bites. The rooms are compact-- or at least my single room was-- but the showers and the sink are still comfortably sized, and the rooms have pretty much everything that one needs. The only downside was that the soundproofing was not very good and road noise could be a problem for those not used to city life.

Dining

Breakfast was included in the rate. It was not buffet, but the selection covered the basics well. When the breakfast room was packed, service for the cooked items (eggs, bacon, sausages) could slow down but choosing other options (yogurt, fruit, toast) yielded quick results.

Service

The service was welcoming and absolutely helpful. Some of the front desk staff were more reserved, while some were warm and would greet guests by name at chat a bit more. But all of them offered excellent and timely help. The waitstaff at breakfast were all helpful and offered a good start to the day, while the housekeeping staff were welcoming too.

A downside to staying at a heritage building was the small single elevator. Rush hour could mean a bit of a wait. The housekeeping staff use the same elevator, but are careful to give priority to guests.

Overall, the hotel covers what really matters to guests-- a good night's sleep, a clean and comfortable room and bath, communication with those back home or contacts being visited, Wi Fi, a well-located and well-connected home base, a good breakfast to start the day, and good advice to orient a visitor in a new city.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back might be quieter.

First off, do not be fooled by the name. This is NOT part of the Starwood specialty St. Regis hotels. They are using same name with exactly the same font, and trust me, it is no St.Regis. If you want something in the busy downtown, that may suit you, but beware there is no valet parking when you arrive. I did not get an email, phone call or instructions as to where to park, and that by itself was a nightmare. the room was nice, and modern, however, after discovering the horrid view of the HVAC, wall, and pipes from my bedroom, and asking for another room, I was asked if I touched anything, and as soon as I said I used the bathroom, the reception informed me that they cannot. He did not even bother to check. They try to act like the big boys, but they fall short of the feelings that they need to convey! I am not going back, ever!

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get the room I got. Picture provided. Horrid view from mine. The wi fi was f...

Thank-you for taking the time to write about your stay at the St. Regis Hotel. While we welcome guest feedback, we wanted to take a moment to correct your misunderstandings regarding the name of our hotel.

The Starwood St. Regis hotel group was launched in 1999, our hotel opened in 1913 and we are proud of our name and the century of Vancouver history associated with it. Moreover, the font used in our logo is completely different than the one used in the Starwood group nor have we ever made any claim of association with the Starwood chain. We are proud to be an independent, Canadian locally-owned and operated hotel.

We regret not being able to accommodate your room move request—at this time of year, we run close to 100% capacity and it’s difficult to accommodate all these requests, particularly when the first room has been occupied and will require another visit from our housekeeping team.

While you didn’t specify how you booked your room, we can only assume that you made the reservation through an online booking agency because we send a pre-stay email with the detailed information regarding parking and hotel directions to all guests who have booked directly with us. Along with things like room preference, one of the many advantages of booking direct with the hotel.

We hope this helps clarify some of the issues you raised regarding your stay.

There are not many hotels where I find myself in complete agreement with all of the positive reviews. The St. Regis is one of them. The staff is excellent and provided very personalized service. We arrived about 9:30am, after disembarking from our Alaskan cruise, for a 3 night stay. In fact there were several couples like us checking in at that time and though it was a bit crowded in the lobby they took care of us almost immediately. It was too early to get a room but they took our bags and promised to have them brought to our room for us when it was ready, which they did. During our stay they made reservations for us for a Victoria-Butchart Gardens tour, and taxi to the airport, and left confirming letters in our room so we did not have to double check.

Our room was very well appointed, modern, comfortable, and clean. The bathroom even had a heated tile floor which was great for those middle of the night visits. As others have said, the location is very good in downtown Vancouver. We were on the third floor and although we did hear some street noise, it was nothing to keep you up. Vancouver did seem to quiet down at night unlike larger cities such as New York or Chicago.

The included breakfast was very good. This was not a buffet but was served to you. Choices were limited but heck, this was included.

Overall, a first class hotel; great place to stay and a great value considering the service and amenities.

We stayed here in May 2014 for 2 nights at the beginning of a 3 week road trip around the Rockies - and again for 2 nights at the end in June. A great location. Easy walk from the Skytrain and into Waterfront or Gas Town. Smart room with a quality feel to the bed linen and the décor. Included breakfast was huge and tasty. The reception staff were really very good and actively went out of their way to make sure you had all the information you needed. Would definitely recommend.
