There is no better overall value for a Vancouver, B.C. hotel. We have stayed at the Blue Horizon twice in the last 6 months. The location on Robson simply cannot be beat. If you are a walker, everything is within reach from here. Quality restaurants, shopping, Stanley Park, night clubs, the business district are all steps away.

The hotel itself is certainly somewhat dated, however, it is clean, the rooms are large and well maintained, the service is excellent and the view is a spectacular aphrodisiac. Pay the extra $10 Canadian for a room above the 15th floor. You will not regret it.

The front desk was very helpful.

Our first hotel on our trip through Canada. The room was very spacious and comfortable with an amazing view over Vancouver (we were on the 28th floor).

We ate in the restaurant for lunch and the service and food was excellent.

The staff were very helpful and all together a great stay.

This is my second stay at the Blue Horizon and I will definitely come back. Good value. Good staff. Spotlessly clean rooms. Great location. Awesome views from the rooms. Yes, this isn't the Grand Hyatt and it could use a little modernization in spots, but it's really an excellent and comfortable place to stay.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights during a recent short vacation to Vancouver. We stayed in a Superior corner room on the 22nd floor. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room was also very quiet, even though the hotel is located on busy Robson St. The only negative was that the bathroom was small and, for some reason, had a rather low ceiling.

Check-in and check-out were handled smoothly by staff who were courteous and efficient, but not overly friendly and outgoing.

We didn't have any trouble finding a parking space in the hotel's garage, although the parking spaces seemed very narrow. Big SUVs and pickup trucks barely fit between the lines. The hotel charges $14/day for parking.

We had breakfast each morning at the hotels "Inlets" restaurant. The food was moderately priced and OK, but not great. Service was good, except for our last day when our waitress seemed to have forgotten about us and our food was very slow to arrive.

I can only echo what other positive reviewers have said about this hotel. We arrived at about 9.30 am following an Alaska cruise and were surprised and delighted that we were able to check in immediately. The following day we asked if we could keep the room a little later (as we had hire car issues) and this was also accommodated without any problem. The room was huge with a balcony with amazing views, extremely comfortable beds, a fridge, very modern bathroom and free internet. The location is excellent and we were able to walk to Stanley Park easily. The breakfast was excellent - the best pancakes and Canadian bacon I've ever had. I would return just for the breakfast! Two small niggles - the lifts were quite small, and slow and the indoor pool was very small and shallow. But there is a decent hot tub and a sauna so the overall experience was good. A gem in the heart of Vancouver.

It's fair to say we did our homework here. It was our wedding and we had 20 out of towners needing a hotel to satisfy both budget and quality. Having viewed nearly every other hotel in its class we went with the BH.

Rooms were huge and most had a fantastic view - we preferred the southern rooms as these provided uninterupted views (and were actually cheaper than the northern rooms which had restricted mountian views).

If you are not familiar with the city and are looking for central location - look no further

Thumbs up all the way.

We stayed here for 5 nights and found it to be quite comfortable. The view was awesome, as we were on the 21st floor. The added balcony was nice. The free internet was a nice amenity but at times it was glitchy so it would either be ridiculously slow or not work at all, but most of the time it was fine. We weren't in our room much as we were out and about so it worked well for us.

The hotel is a nice walking distance to Stanley Park, which is a MUST see. Around the corner is a crepe place that looked really busy but we never actually tried it. It is central to the Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Pacific Centre. Since it's located on Robson Street, you are in the center of all the shopping, so if you like shopping, this hotel is in the perfect location.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend it to anybody who wants to be central to a lot of Downtown sights.
