“Looks can be deceiving”
Reviewed 1 June 2012

When I first viewed the exterior, I questioned the authenticity of these reviews. However the interior matched the photos and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Even when I was a little late returning (toured Stanley Park, got back in after the 1200 checkout time) - they had no problem with my tardiness. The room was really nice and comfortable, complete with a little nook that does a great job as a desk.
Even a little oversight such as not replacing the shower curtain was very quickly resolved - they addressed it right away.
First time I've seen signage like what they have here - a great sense of humour.
They treat the customer very well. If I return to Vancouver, I will definitely try to return to this place.

We stayed 2 nights in June and were really pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms. The management was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vancouver. It is also central to a lot of eateries and shopping. Very comfortable.

Dont be put off by the exterior, inside it's clean and calm. Just what I needed which was a good location, free Wifi, coffee in the room and very helpful staff. If you don't want to spend a fortune on an impersonal chain hotel then this is what you want.

Found this cool place in the edge of the downtown core, close to Davie Street. Close to good places to eat, interesting local colour and shopping. This former motor inn had lots of nice touches like a 42 inch flat screen, IPod docking station/alarm clock, espresso machine and Wi-Fi. We had a great sleep in this clean and comfortable room Nice patio area that seemed to float above the parking area. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was fun to stay here.

Room Tip: If there is an event in town, book a little sooner.

The rooms are smallish but nicely appointed. The service and ambiance is great. Free bike rentals a nice touch. The location was fine. The courtyard a nice place to sit. One caveat .. our room had no air conditioner. I travel with a fan to make white noise and the weather was not hot.

No AC!!!. Hot, tiny bedroom and bathroom. The staff were lovely and helpful. But we left to find cooler (temperature) digs at the Delta. The Burrard is rated number number 17 in Trip Advisor???Surely more than 16 hotels in Vancouver are better than the Burrard.

Room Tip: Don't bother

Thank you for your feedback and we are happy to hear that our service and staff were great for your visit. Our AC units have gone into the rooms just this week as temperatures are finally getting to that level. We are sorry that they didn't arrive a little sooner for your sake, but we were still wearing boots last week! We value your opinions and thank you again for your review.

Just checked in on 5/23/2012. Cool old style hotel that's been completely renovated. Friendly staff, nice clean rooms, great courtyard, and it's located right downtown. Helped us with finding a good restaurant.
