“Great location, clean rooms and great staff”
Reviewed 10 April 2013

Highly recommend! My dad had a medical procedure at St. Pauls Hospital which is directly across the street. This was an unexpected trip so we were both stressed. The room was clean, quiet and reasonably priced which helped us stay focused on the reason for being there. If you are in a similar situation... well even if you're not... you can't go wrong with The Burrard!

Staff were very helpful and knowledgable about the neighbourhood. Betty has an impressive menu for food / snacks. The room was a bit small but has a modern aesthetic and a pleasant vibe. The courtyard is fantastic and after a day sitting in the hospital, had a very calming effect when I walked by to our room. Burrard Skytrain station was a short walk. Would defintely stay again.

LOVE the Burrard from its fun retro vibe, clean modern lines, simple and technological savvy. It's a great location. The rooms are small but clean, simple, bright, comfortable. Great value with the inclusion of breakfast. Great location.

For my four-night stay in Vancouver, I decided to try four different hotels. I am now sad that I didn't book The Burrard for all four nights. The desk clerk was very friendly and informative. He allowed me to check in several hours early. The hotel is incredibly stylish, and clean. There is a delightful attention to detail; information on the hotel comes in the form of carefully scattered postcards on your made bed. Though my room is small, it's still great. I never understood the solo traveller's need for a big room; this room still has everything you need, including a fridge, espresso machine, closet, and spacious bath. I just had a pear and brie croissant, and a tea latte for breakfast at their cafe, which had an impressive selection of snacks and beverages. I would certainly recommend this place to friends, and intend to stay here on my next trip to Vancouver.

So we were a bit nervous about booking a place in Vancouver after so many reports of bed bugs at many hotels. Happy to say it was not an issue at Burrard. Absolutely no frills room, but very clean and that's all I care about. Bed sagged a bit in the middle and there were lots of seemingly young college students around us, but all else was A+. We got the park and breakfast deal, both had a lovely cup of very hot tasty joe in the morning at Betty; I got a big muffin and my boyfriend a quiche. Good business model - having a cafe attached to the hotel. The location was ideal in our opinion and not too noisy at all (esp. compared to location of other downtown hotels), but perhaps for those who are used to crickets it's a bit much (here I am responding to other reviews I read of this hotel). We live in urban Seattle and found the hotel to be very peaceful. Else, we loved the free bike rentals. We will definitely stay here again.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The mid century decor and great location won my little heart over as soon as I saw it from outside. How many hotels can you say that about?

Service was prompt and friendly. Our room was pretty quiet despite the downtown location- even with the windows open. There was no bad hotel art in sight, either.

I guess I would say the burrard felt age-appropriate: not stuffy, big common area, great design, and a really good bed for when we finally ran out of things to do.

This gem has the style of The Drake in Toronto without its pretentiousness. The rooms are small in that old-school way, but the space is maximized with funky furniture, great toiletries and delicious coffee. Be sure to borrow a bike and toodle around Stanley Park. Rarely does the real thing measure up to a website that cool, but in this case it was even better than expected. A bit loud if you are sensitive to noise (hospital across the street, construction all around - but it's Vancouver!).

Room Tip: The rooms at the back aren't as noisy.
