My boss had booked a deal with this hotel along with flight and upon looking at the website, he thought it would be a great comfortable stay for me to be refreshed for work the next day. We were terrible mislead.

The downstairs lunch and dinner restaurants were above average and gave the impression that the hotel would be of decent quality. The lobby had a boutique New York charm.

However, once I got to my room, it was FREEZING with all the windows opened. It took over two hours with blasted heat for the room to warm up. Only half of the electric outlets and lights worked/turned on. Very inconvenient for my work situation.

The bedding seemed old, dirty and uncomfortable and everything was basically peeling or chipping. This hotel doesn't pay attention at all to details to make guests more comfortable. One of the most uncomfortable hotel stays I have ever had. The TV was also terrible quality, almost no point in even having one in the room. More suitable for students looking for a cheap stay downtown.

This hotel is in a great location with a fantastic wine bar and restaurant right downstairs. The staff members I encountered were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean with lots of daylight. I would definitely stay here again!

I give the Moda credit for trying hard. They've worked hard to give it an updated modern look. The folks at the front desk are very helpful. Each room has it's own hvac with modern thermostat. There are multiple restaurants associated with the hotel on the property.

It dead smack in the middle of town and only minutes from the subway. Coffee, restaurants, grocery are all nearby.

However it is an old 4 story building without central air. The rooms are on the small side. My room was on the back, where the restaurants are, and definitely picked up some restaurant fan smell at night. The sheets are a little odd. The funky new paint job is worn in places.

But for the price, it's a gem and I'd stay there again. This is good place to stay if you don't intend to spend that much time in the room. Just make sure you keep your expectations in check.

We were spending NYE going to see one of our favorite bands at the Commodore. The venue is barely a block and half away. Perfect location. Grocery store 1 block away, lots of quick food, liqueur store, coffee. I would stay here again.

I choose the Moda Hotel as it is only a few steps away from the Orpheum Theatre which houses the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and it is right smack in the middle of downtown Vancouver with easy access to shopping, entertainment and restaurants as well as bus- and subway routes.
It probably is an old hotel yet for the price I paid I was very satisfied with the amenities. The room and bathroom were clean. There were some extra's such as a coffee maker, soap and shampoo's, an ironing board, a flatscreen t.v. large mirror, plenty of towels and pillows on the bed. There is free wifi, a bar as well as a restaurant which serves Italian dishes. Parking is a bit of a problem as one has to park his car in a parking lot down the road which could be considered an inconvenience as well as costly. Taking the bus is much easier, no hassle.
