“The most amazing Concierge - Vanessa V”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

I had to arrange a full day of events for 12 guys, visiting Vancouver, I've never been to that city and the Amex Travel agent couldn't help me out.
I called Vanessa V, the Concierge at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver - she was totally amazing!! Vanessa arranged for an exclusive wine tasting for the guys, transport and VIP table service with no line to get in at a club called Ginger 62. Vanessa did all this within 24 hours, she even went by the club after her shift to check on our reservation at Ginger 62 as they weren't responding to emails - I'm so glad I found her. Vanessa V is the BEST CONCIERGE I've ever worked with - intelligent, reliable and super sweet - she is totally connected with the best and latest in Vancouver!!!

Dear Amira R,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review about Vanessa, one of our team at the Concierge desk. It is wonderful to hear that she was able to assist you with your event planning needs, and that she is the best concierge that you have worked with. Sounds like it was a great night out!

Warm Regards,
Brandi

Great location in the heart of downtown -- easy walking to Stanley Park, Gastown, Convention Center/waterfront, etc. Starbucks in lobby of hotel for easy morning coffee/breakfast. Good size room, decent workout facility (small but not crowded).

Very nice hotel, pleasant staff at check-in, concierge very helpful. Housekeeping staff lovely too, friendly and efficient. Room on the 25th floor spacious and comfortable, with stunning views to the Burrard Inlet and mountains beyond. Didn't eat in hotel so can't comment on food or service.
We wanted to keep in touch with family at home via - but refused to pay the !!! $9.99 !!! a day for Wi Fi. Unbelievable ! ! ! It's free in Tim Hortons and many restaurants in downtown Vancouver.
Enjoyed the city, but found the number of beggars and homeless people quite disturbing. Get them some help!

Room Tip: High floor if you want a good view. Corner room with balcony was fun.

I stayed at the Hyatt with this past December and was quite pleased with the hotel overall. The rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were an appropriate size. Our room also came with a fridge (which I presume is standard for all rooms) so it was nice to have to chill leftovers and drinks. The beds were very comfy however, with our room facing West Georgia (the busiest street in downtown Vancouver in my opinion), we were subject to being woken up to morning traffic on a frequent basis. Otherwise, noise from guests inside the hotel weren't an apparent issue as we never heard anyone else. I thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and pool and while I didn't personally use it, the gym has modern equipment and almost everything one would need. The elevator banks are very efficient and speedy and there's a Starbucks in the lobby. But as to be expected downtown Vancouver and higher end hotels, you'll pay an arm and a leg for parking on site.

Room Tip: It may be worth checking out the nearby secured parking lots for 24hr rates.

This was my first trip to Vanc. so I didn't know what to expect, and just thought to pay extra and stay downtown. I booked through Hotwire and just chose the best available star rating (4) and lowest price downtown, which turned out to be Hyatt. I'm glad I did because the hotel is great and lives up to the past reviews. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and there was no wait for check-in. From Hotwire I was assigned a room with 2 double beds, but I called ahead and requested a king and they were able to accommodate.

The rooms are fairly quiet, very safe/clean/new looking, and have big windows to enjoy the views. I was traveling with my pregnant wife who said that the mattress was too stiff for her, but I thought it was OK (though I can sleep on anything). The hotel does not own a parking garage so you have to pay to get day passes (it is $36 CAD for 24 hours with in-out privileges). There is a Starbucks in the lobby, a McDonald's next door, and many shopping/eating options within a 5 min walk. They have a pool, jacuzzi, and gym on the 4th floor which are nice after a long drive from Seattle.

We stayed just one night but were very impressed. This hotel is much better than other Hyatt Regencies we stayed, more on par with a Park Hyatt, so we were pleasantly surprised. They missed turn turn service otherwise would be all 5s! Noise was not a problem at all since we were on a high floor.

We spent five nights at this hotel in a balcony view room. I'm not sure the balcony is worth the added cost given that the view is quite obstructed and you hopefully won't spend much time in the room in any event. The location is ideal - easy walking distance to Canada Place, Stanley Park, Robson Street, Gastown, Yaletown, and the water taxi to Granville Island. The bus to Grouse Mountain and Capilano stops right at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is delicious and all the staff we dealt with were very helpful and freindly. The only negative is that the rooms lack sufficent soundproofing - you will hear your neighbours and the noise from outside. Bring ear plugs for sleeping. If not for that issue, I would rate it five stars.

Room Tip: Ask for a room above the 22nd floor with a mountain view. Do not take a room on the 28th floor unde...
