“Excellent views of harbor & downtown”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

Spent 3 notes @ Hyatt in downtown Vancouver. Well trained & very helpful staff. Had room on 24th floor which presented great views of both the harbor & downtown areas, but on last night had to walk down all 24 floors after fire alarms went off @ 2:37 am! Thankfully turned out to be a false alarm & hotel staff handled it well, but with a wake up call for 5 to catch flight, not much rest was had that night. Plus, plus, plus….Starbucks in lobby. Yay! Oh, they did comp my movie that was interrupted due to the false fire alarm. Yes!

Room Tip: Higher floors definitely give best views.

Stayed here a little over a year ago, just now getting to a bunch of trip advisor reviews.

Booked 2 rooms, one for me, one for a friend, a few doors apart from each other. Unfortunately, there seemed to be some sort of bachelor and bachelorette parties going on in the rooms between, with a variety of young men and women coming and going all night, and of course their party really got going around 2am. Shouting, yelling, drinking, the full deal. The walls are thin, and the party might as well have been in my room. Someone shouting on 6 inches from my head with just a thin layer of drywall between doesn't really work.

Neither my friend or I got a single second of sleep the whole night. I have stayed at 4-5 star hotels all over the world and this was by far worst hotel experience I have had.

Both my friend and I called the front desk during the night to complain, someone came up and asked them to keep it down, but that lasted for maybe 30 seconds. I spoke to the manager in the morning to discuss the situation, to their credit they knocked a few dollars off the room charges, but little help when I still had a few hundred dollar room bill (for both rooms), and would have been better off sleeping in my car.

Room Tip: Stay at the Fairmont

Dear Curtis W,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I would like to apologize for your experience at our hotel, that is certainly not what one should expect when staying with us. I am also sorry that we were not able to better resolve the issue while you were at the hotel. I do hope that the next time you come to Vancouver, you would consider giving us the opportunity to show you the great experience that one should expect when staying at our hotel. If I may be able to assist with future reservations, please do not hesitate to contact me at brandi.lasanen@hyatt.com.

Warm Regards,
Brandi

Hotel is in a great location, close to waterfront and public transit. Very neat rooms, very simple and pleasant. No wows, just a nice, quite stay. Service was polite, receptionist suggested to join Hyatt club membership to get free wifi access- that was a great touch. Luggage storage after check out was very helpful.

Let's face it, for the business traveler, there is very little difference between one hotel room and another. As long as the room is clean, has a bed, and has a plug to re-charge your gear, it doesn't matter much.

I received phenomenal service from the minute I pulled into the hotel. The doorman has been great on multiple occassions with advice, directions, and an umbrella! Andrew took his time checking me in and orienting me to the hotels services. Two bartenders (Curt was one) took extra time to play travel agent, and advise me on great sights, food and culture in the city. They all made me feel at home.

BTW - the room was actually really cool. It's big, newly remodeled, and has a lot of plugs.

The hotel is well located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Rooms are very big and comfortable. GYM is well equipped. Service was very good. Gave it 4* just due to the cost of the hotel, comparing to other options.

This was our first stay at Hyatt Regency Vancouver, before I continue on, I would like to personally thank Brandi Lasanen; She handled all our request with perfection, provided us information that was very helpful to our stay and made our stay that more Enjoyable. We also met the General Manager ( Ulrich Samiet ) and will be posting Q&A Sessions we had as soon as I receive a complete response from him. While other hotels do excel with beautiful grounds or views of oceans, valleys or mountains, the Hyatt Regency Vancouver is set on the heart of the city downtown Vancouver, surrounded by busy Vancouver traffic and pedestrians. The location of the hotel is ideal; it is located next to the Burrard Skytrain and West Georgia Street, making it easily accessible. The shopping mall connected to the hotel through its lobby, you also have Starbucks in the lobby for all those coffee lovers, and for those hungry late nighters you have access to McDonald which is open 24 hours and located right outside of Hyatt Main Entrance.

Room itself was immaculate and the views from the rooms of the harbor are very nice. The room was tastefully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was typical but upscale, what was atypical was the shower. Instead of the traditional shower head, there was a square rainfall shower head in the ceiling which I thoroughly enjoyed, but I felt like it could use brighter lighting.

If Your celebrating a Special Occasion and are interested in getting a Suite, We would Suggest you get the Double Level Suite, Its worth the Experience!

Regency Club Upgrade, it is absolutely a great idea to do this as you will enjoy many benefits that comes with it. Experience the advantages of club membership with private access to the 29th floor when you reserve a Regency Club Room. Enjoy spacious, modern guestrooms that are 380 square feet and include one king or two double signature Hyatt Grand Beds, fitted with down duvets over delightful pillow-top mattresses. Take advantage of personalized Concierge service and a private lounge with balcony serving Free continental breakfast, evening cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres.

Hyatt Regency Vancouver has a Fitness Center which also has a Hot Tub + Pool. It provides Fresh Towels and state of the art workout machines. It’s not a large space but its very doable, however I am told they will be expanding within this year.

Room Tip: Balcony View or Double level suite are awesome !!!
