Recently spent a few days at The Metropolitan. We have stayed there many times, but not in the last few years. Very comfortable rooms, with all the amenities we enjoy. Exceptional service in every case.

Room Tip: As high as possible to lessen street noise.

Our party of eight were so impressed by this hotel's friendly and helpful staff, attractive and comfortable accommodations, prime downtown location and delicious food in the restaurant. We walked to the downtown attractions--Granville Island, Stanley Park, Gastown --and to the cruise port. The rooms have all the amenities and luxurious bedding. All of the staff were smiling and took time to offer suggestions about area attractions and transportation. We enjoyed the water taxi, Aquabus , and the market at Granville Island as well as Stanley Park and the waterfront. Breakfast and late dinner in the restaurant were delicious and exceptional compared to other hotel restaurants. We highly recommend this hotel.

I had a great deal to stay at this hotel. I was unsure at first because I never heard of it. After getting through the long line at check-in, I started to see the value.

The staff was very friendly, including the parking attendant. They mentioned my name and that meant alot to me when ordering room service, calling down, or walking out the lobby. This is without drawing any special attention to myself.

When arriving in the room, there were freshly made high end cookies waiting, the internet worked great! the Gym/pool/racketball courts was awesome! the Resturant fabulous! (atleast for breakfast), and the room service fantastic. The feedback about specials and what was good was spot on.

BTW...the location was great! Right across the street from Holt Renfrew!

Check it out...

We stayed there on the 20 and 21 of July 2012. We had two rooms, 1004 and 1005; 1004 was slightly musty smelling but we opened the patio door and it went away. The bathroom was just fantastic, the bed super comfortable, there were light switches by each side that controlled the lights so you can turn everything off without getting out of bed. The TV was not a flat screen but it worked fine and it didn't matter to us. We loved being able to step outside onto the small balcony and get some fresh air.

The pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness room, etc were good, there was even a TV in the sauna which was strange to me but it was an added bonus.

The conceirge and parking staff are fabulous and full of recommendations.

We stayed there with a Groupon for each room which included parking and 2 breakfast vouchers per morning for 299 for two nights, which is quite the steal.

I recently had the opportunity to visit one of my favorite cities in North America and decided it was time to try a new hotel and picked the Metropolitan! Awesome - great location, Close to Canada place, couple of blocks to Robson Street - shopping, access to excellent restaurants, the middle of everything fun to do in Vancouver. Added bonus close to the Sky Train!
The room was great - fabulous views and the housekeeping staff was incredible - little extra touches in the room which was a treat. The group at the front door and garage were great - gave good directions were right there when help was needed.
The hotel restaurant also has a great Sunday Brunch and a nice Bar for an afternoon glass of wine.
Will stay there next time in Vancouver and hope it is soon!

We enjoyed two very comfortable stays at the end of our special Canadian holiday to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The staff very kindly left us fruit, chocolates and a card congratulating us, in our lovely suite. The hotel is very well situated and we enjoyed the short walk to Canada Place in the evenings, for a pleasant stroll by the water. All of the hotel staff were pleasant and very polite. We would definately choose this hotel again, if we are ever fortunate enough to re-visit the wonderful city of Vancouver.

Room Tip: A Junior Suite is worth having.

We visited this property last weekend (Saturday to Monday) and really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect-you can walk so many places-great food and shopping nearby! The female concierge at the hotel is terrific-very helpful and knowledgeable-take advantage. She also made reservations for us at the nearby new Cactus Club for dinner. This location does not normally take reservations but if a hotel calls they will. This property is well maintained, very clean, professional while not being stuffy, and very friendly. Parking and breakfast is pricey so get a package that includes these if possible. I would go back in a heartbeat!
There seems to be a guy in the area that makes a habit of yelling in the middle of the night (sometime around 2:00 a.m.) and it was loud enough on the 14th floor to awaken me. This happened both nights and I know this sounds strange but even though it was a yell it sounded like the same voice both nights.
