“Perfect get-away!!!”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

We loved this hotel...right downtown Vancouver!!! We couldn't have been closer to everything that we wanted to do. Transit was right across the street, as was a large shopping mall. Robson Street, with all its great shops was just two blocks away, as was the waterfront. Our room was ready for us when we checked in, and it was lovely on the 14th floor. We had a nice view of downtown, but nothing spectacular. A cute little balcony overlooked the city! The room was large, and we had everything we needed. Can I just say the sheets were to die for. So soft and comfy! We liked that we had both a separate shower and soaking tub in the bathroom. There was only one robe in the room, but they quickly brought us up another one when requested. The work out room, pool and hot tub were very nice. The temperature was perfect, and we really liked the skylights in the roof so that the city lights shined in at night! We had an incredible breakfast both mornings in Diva restaurant! And finally, Doug, our concierge was fabulous! When we wanted to have dinner at a little bistro, he suggested The Bellagio Cafe and it was incredible. When we wanted crepes, he sent us right down the street to Cafe Crepe! When we wanted to rent bicycles, he gave us a map and showed us exactly where to do! He was friendly, and very knowledgeable! I would definitely recommend The Metropolitan Hotel if you want to be right in the heart of the city, and be pampered with incredible service and surroundings! We loved it!

The central location of the hotel was good. The staff were friendly and efficient, there was always a pleasant greeting for us when we entered the building. One morning the hair dryer was faulty and just a couple of minutes after reporting it, a new one was delivered to my room. We were lucky enough to be on the 4th floor so had a spacious terrace outside complete with table and chairs. I would happily stay here again.

This is a comfortable hotel in a handy location close to a lot of shops and restaurants. I really liked my spacious room with a nice view of some tower blocks, especially at night time with all the city lights. The only minus point was the very, very slow and erratic service in the hotel restaurant at dinner time; it was quite at odds with an otherwise stylish and efficient establishment.

We stayed twice and were impressed with the service from all the staff. The location is in a nice area near the financial district and the waterfront .
We had hoped to try the highly rated restaurant but ran out of time...next time!
When we return to Vancouver we will definitely stay again.

The lobby was pretty, but not very big. The room was clean and comfortable. The bartender was very friendly. The front desk lady was a tad bit rude and not very helpful. However, I would stay here again. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

This was our first time in Vancouver but the Metropolitan made it a breeze. We checked in late on a Friday and stayed until Monday morning. The first morning we were going fishing so we ordered room service for an early breakfast. The woman who brought breakfast was very friendly and the food was just what we needed. We didn't really need to pull the car out much since everything was within walking distance. Everyone on the staff was very friendly. My only complaint was one morning we were going to go for a run. When we asked the gentleman at the concierge desk (who I think was a bellman covering the concierge desk since it was early) where the path along the waterfront was, he was said "well we are on an island so we are surrounded by water"....I even had a general idea but was asking to make sure we were going in the correct direction but he didn't get a clue by the clothing or the direction I was pointing in. Picky I know but our stay was perfect other than that.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1106. Not much of a view by quiet corner of building.

Wow... I wish I was there to direct you on your run. We are about a five minute jog to the seawall on the north side of the city. From there, you can go around the picturesque convention centre, all the way down to Stanley Park. You can either turn back from there or just keep going around the park and the city. It is a spectacular route. You will have to do that next time!

upon your arrival you met by very friendly and professional staff under the leadership of their conch years Oliver Ng. Our suite was excellent and we enjoy the hyper allergenic floor they have in the hotel. Everything can or room was perfect and is extremely clean and comfortable. the bedding is of the highest quality in the bed was extremely comfortable. We run the 14th floor so there is no issue with street noise and obviously no issue with noise from the other rooms. Parking is extremely easy as all you do is drive into the driveway and they look after the rest. They have some incredible deals which makes it economic to stay at this excellent hotel opposed to some of the others in downtown Vancouver. I have been staying here for years and have never been disappointed in the hotel rooms, the service and the location is excellent.I travel the world and I believe this is one of the best hotels anywhere!

Room Tip: higher the floor the better! if you want to splurge I would highly recommend upgrading to a suite.
