The hotel itself is nice enough. Our room was comfortable, clean, and updated. The walls are super thin, and you can hear everything going on in the hallway, but I've found this to be true for many hotels.

The location was pretty good. We were a few short blocks away from Robson/Granville and a good walk from Stanley Park.

There is free wi-fi and free internet stations in the lobby, which is really nice. There is a daily internet fee, if you want to have access in your room. Parking is $20+ a day, but that is pretty normal for Vancouver.

Overall, I liked the Renaissance better than the Sheraton Wall Center and Sutton Place. It's probably on par with the Hyatt, but the Hyatt has a better location (but less comfortable beds).

Booked this hotel because it was close to the Vancouver Conference Center and the closer conference hotels were fully booked. Boy, did I luck out. The room was spacious, overlooked the harbour--I could see the seaplanes take off and land, there was free wi-fi and the hotel was close to everything. Unlike the conference hotel which was like a big mall, this hotel was smaller and nicer. The staff were terrific and the room was really huge. I could walk to the harbor park in 2 minutes, to the conference center in less than 5 and to Robson street (major shopping) in 5-10. Also, the beds were soooo comfortable.

Clean, centrally located, walk a few blocks to Olympic center, waterfront, conventions center , sightseeing buses, room view over water was nice.. everthing in Vancouver is a little pricey, but a great city to visit. Staff was friendly and helpful..great fitness center and pool for location... ****If you pay $ 15 a night for internet , you get FREE local calls and calls back to USA.. ( great deal)

Room Tip: Ask for water view

Location was good, however found the hotel was quite dated for a "4 star" hotel.
I know I'm being picky but the room should be vacuumed if we are spending the night, particularly with kids... Beds/pillows not comfortable, we found we sinking into the middle of the bed. Pool was okay but dissapointed the spa was not in working order for the holiday weekend. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Upon arriving in Vancouver, one day prior to our cruise departure, it was apparent that the hotel we had booked was not in a good part of town. Desperation set in and we hopped in a cab and headed back downtown to the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel.

Upon arriving, a young but very Professional and understanding Miss Amanda Bye listened to our plight and got us into an amazing room at a last minute special rate. She was extremely helpful and kind and in a world of not so great customer service, Miss Bye exceeding all of our expectations and turned a very bad first night in Vancouver into a very good one!

The rooms and views are breathtaking, looking out over the harbor, the location is perfect, a few blocks from the Waterfront stop from using the SkyTrain from the airport and it's just a one block walk down to the waterfront itself where there is a plethora of restaurants and yummy eats such as gelato. The staff overall are very accommodating and the buffet breakfast is top notch.

I would not hesitate staying here again on our next visit and I would hire Miss Bye in a heartbeat if I owned any type of establishment.

Thanks again AMANDA!!!!
