Hotel is just what you expect from a high-end hotel! Very friendly and helpfull staff and we got a free upgrade to the harbourside!
Hotel room was very clean and spacious with a balkony, great view on Grouse Mountain and the seaplane terminal!
Only drawback; why does such a luxury and expensive hotel charge her guest almost $17 for internet per day?!?! Even the cheapest motels have free wifi.

Room Tip: Ask for a harbourside room, officialy it is an upgrade but if you are charged it is only $30,- per n...

We enjoyed our stay here prior to our Alaskan Cruise. It was in a good location and easy to find with good under ground parking. It was close to Stanley park and the Water district as well as the Olympic gathering area. The room was spacious and we looked out over the water of the harbor. We watched float planes take off and land and watched the cruise ships pass by.

Room Tip: The rooms on the Harbor side have a view if you are looking between the buildings but you are not on...

Hotel is clean, bathrooms a bit small but workable, HVAC really quiet, views and location are great, hotel near everything (except Granville Island). We walked everywhere from the hotel. Staff very friendly and professional. Food in top floor lounge is delicious for those with access. Bellhops very good.

I stayed at this hotel for a 3-day conference in May. I was very very impressed with the view and the balcony that we had. It was a double door deck so I could either have an open air deck or a closed window to stand on, it was outstanding. My room was exactly in between 2 apartment buildings which means there was no obstruction of the view either. The room itself wasn't anything special but was comfortable all the same.
The location is great, it is near Burrard st as well as Harbourside Park, which is a beautiful place to have a stroll.
The conference amenities were alright, it could use some touching up as the door to my conference room made a loud creak every time it was opened, and the carpet was worn. The reception area was quite small as well. However, the lobby was more modern and the bellboys/valets were very friendly.
Overall the experience was quite good and I would definitely recommend!

My husband and I stayed here three nights during our vacation to Vancouver and I was very pleased with our stay. The location of the hotel is fantastic - very close to the harbor and boardway, within walking distance from Stanley Park and great restaurants. The hotel also had lots of available paid parking.

We also really loved our room, which had a beautiful view of the water. The room was decorated in modern decor and was very clean, large and spacious. It was also extremely convenient that we were able to leave our dogs in the hotel room without issue.

My only complaint was that during our stay there was a big wedding that took place one of the nights. We were staying on the 5th floor and the ballroom for the wedding was on the 2nd floor on the opposite side of the hotel. Despite this, we could very clearly and loudly hear the dance music until the wee hours of the night. It was so loud that we could hear the lyrics of the songs and it definitely prevented us from sleeping. We called and complained a number of times but nothing was done about the loud volume of the music. Apparently, several other guests had complained too, to no avail. If it was loud for us, I can't imagine how loud it would be for the rooms right above the ballroom. Other than this one issue, our stay at the Renaissance was lovely.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view if you can! It is well worth it. Avoid booking rooms on the eastern side o...

We stayed at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside for two nights while awaiting our cruise to Alaska.

Overall, this was a good hotel that didn't do anything wrong - but it wasn't impressive in terms of its rooms, its restaurant, or its common spaces. That may have led me to give this an 'average' rating - but this hotel has three things going for it:
1) Its location is great - we could walk to anything in a short amount of time - including the cruise terminal. Plus, it was great to watch the sea planes land from my room.
2) Its club lounge had much higher quality food than I've seen in most other hotels in the Marriott chain (except for Ritz Carltons, of course). Each presentation had multiple, well-prepared options and even in between presentations, there were always well-stocked drink and snack options. Unfortunately, that is not the norm in the Marriott chain.
3) The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. From Alex in concierge to the friendly and accommodating front desk clerk we met at the beginning - everyone was friendly. Even when the waitress told us we couldn't order breakfast or lunch during a 'middle period' in the morning, she said it in a very friendly way and offered us options outside of the hotel.

Would I stay here again? Yes. Would I go out of my way to do so or make a special occasion out of it? No. All in all, a solid choice in Vancouver.

Room Tip: High floor facing the harbor

We had the BEST time at this hotel. We were in Vancouver for a few days while we toured the Pacific NW. The hotel was perfect. Given were from the States and had cell roaming charges, we relied on the Navigator to help us find our way. They were so helpful. Tons of maps ready to go. Great advice for spots to stop at and spots to skip. Very informative. The rest of the staff, front desk, bellman, ect, were SO helpful and friendly. Not a single bad experience. Everyone was ready to help or offer a suggestion. Great restaurant tips.

The room was very nice, clean and spacious. Big windows showed off the hotel's crown jewel - the view. The views of the harbor were AMAZING. Literally couldn't get a better spot. Location was very convenient. We did have to cab it to Yaletown but were able to walk to Gastown pretty easily. There were also some great harbor spots were stopped at to grab a drink which were very close. The Olympic torch was only a few blocks away.

We ate breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. It was great. Perfect to start the day off right. Loved the outside tables as well.

Overall, it was a great experience. We will be back as soon as possible!

Room Tip: Harbor views were beautiful, but I can't imagine there is a bad view in the house. I would ask...
