“Comfort and convenience in a terrific location is a great value”

It's an easy walk from the Sunset Inn and Suites south to the False Creek Ferry and English Bay and also north to Coal Harbor and its many attractions. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, recommending logistics, walks, and restaurants. Our suite was welcoming and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen, living room and dining area, and a luxurious bath room. A very comfortable bed, free parking, continental breakfast, and rates running $100 less than other popular hotels made this place a "find" four us. We really enjoyed taking the water taxi over to Granville Island to visit the market, attend Bard on the Beach, and explore the Kitsilano area. We will definitely stay here when we come again.

Room Tip: Our room faced the alleyway behind, but we never noticed any noise from that direction. There are no...

The Sunset Inn & Suites is in a fairly good location downtown Vancouver. We were upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite. The kingsize bed was wonderful, the suite clean and tidy and had everything you would need. Very affordable for what you get especially that the rooms include free parking and wi-fi! Friendly, laidback front desk staff. Handy to have laundry. Continental breakfast is very limited but it was fine. I would definitely stay again as you get a lot for what you pay for.

I stayed with my wife for 3 nights in September, in a one bedroom suite. The suite was great, comfortably and attractively furnished, if not very large. The location on a residential street was very convenient and quiet. We had take out dinners from several of the many ethnic restaurants on Davie Street which we ate at the dining table while watching sunsets over the city and the water. We walked to the Art Gallery and Robson Street (about a 15 minute, attractive walk) and to catch the water taxi to Granville Island (about a 5 minute downhill walk). At the suggestion of the very helpful and personable Arrabella, we bought tickets on the hop-on-hop-off Big Bus, which stops just around the corner from the hotel, and saw everything we wanted to see and do in Vancouver. The continental breakfast was pretty plain, but adequate. The free, secure parking was a HUGE bonus, because we didn't use our car once while in town. The only negative was that we couldn't use the balcony because of the pigeon leavings, but probably wouldn't have anyway. We would definitely stay here again when in Vancouver.

I stayed here with 2 adult daughters and we were very comfortable and pleased with this hotel. Room was roomy with 2 beds, full kitchen, and small balcony. There was a continental breakfast with very basic items that you brought back to your room to eat due to limited space downstairs. There were plenty of places to walk to for all meals. Staff has plenty of recommendations if you are interested.

We were in Vancouver for our daughter's wedding and so chose a suite hotel to be able to do some entertaining of guests. We were very pleased with our suite (livingroom, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom) althought the bathroom is small. Everything was clean and comfortable, kitchen was very well stoked with dishes and appliances and there was loads of storage space. A small balcony was great for sitting out with a morning coffee. Internet was free. The hotel provides a light breakfast buffet which we also appreciated (e.g. bagels, english muffins, cereal, coffee, juice, etc) that you can collect and take back to your suite. Later in the day they put out a big jar of jelly beans -- which we ate way too often!! We found all staff to be very helpful and friendly. A big positive about the hotel is its location on a quiet street but its only a 2-minute walk up to Davie St which has a huge range of with restaurents, grocery stores, and other shops as well as being a main bus route. A couple of blocks in the other direction takes you down to the beach. Two minor negatives: (a) they have a small exercise room but the equipment is quite old and sqeaky -- so I mainly used only a treadmill and the hand weights, and (b) manuevering a car into the gated parking areas, especially the underground floor, is very tricky even with a small car as there are tight turns and small parking spaces. However, the big positive about parking is that its free and 2 out of 3 parking areas are gated so great for overnight security. The hotel is in an area of town where long term street parking is not available except to local residents and most other hotels that I considered charged at least $20 per day for parking.

We stayed in Sunset Inn and Suites for two night in early September and didn't regret the decision. It is in an excellent location, the room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots PhD good restaurants nearby.

The breakfast wasn't great - if it is your big meal of the day, thou are better off seeking out elsewhere.
