“great hotel”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

This was a great hotel. It was clean, and in a convenient location - a 6 minute walk from the P&E. It was a perfect stay for me. Staff was friendly and gave excellent choices to restaurants in the area.

As a Platinum member I've stayed at many ICH properties, resulting in high expectations. On the positive side; staff was excellent (friendly, attentive, helpful), lobby spacious & well decorated, convenient parking, plentiful breakfast, comfy bed, nice flat screen TV, and clean room. Negatives included; dirty and rippled room carpet, worn furniture, dirty hall carpet, and pealing wall paper. General maintenance needs improvement, for example, frayed cable on fitness center weight machine (safety hazard), abnormally loud air conditioner, and loose handles on sink. Apart from the lobby area, a refurbishment would go a long way toward making it a very nice hotel.

Room Tip: Recommend middle north facing rooms to avoid potential street noise and enjoy a lovely mountain view...

We make regular weekend trips from Seattle to Vancouver. This time we decided to stay at this hotel. When looking for a room, this hotel came up on the list as a reasonably priced hotel. We have stayed at HI Express hotels in the past so we knew the rooms would be clean and we will get free breakfast.

Overall our stay (2+2 guests) was comfortable. The only issue would be that the breakfast area is cramped and the building itself is dated. Also, we ended up in a handicapped room so the bathroom was not as convenient for us. When the kids took the shower, the water went everywhere. For value and cleanliness I would recommend this hotel. There are plenty of places to eat out in the vicinity.

Room Tip: Make sure it is away from the elevator and possibly near to the stairs from the garage.

we stayed one week in the USA and after the flight from LAX to Vancouver we drove to the Holiday Inn express. Everything was well prepared and it shows they appreciate the gold members from IHG. This hotel also gives you a 15% discount on the restaurant next door.

Certainly we would come back as the room was nice.

This Holiday Inn is vary nice and has been up graded. Why I gave it a poor is the front desk has problem with one of the girls and the night manager they both had a attitude when we checked in and that is all I will say about them. We have stayed here twice before but this will be our last.
The shuttle service to the cruise ship is great drops you right in front were you leave your baggage.
The breakfast is the Holiday Inn Express standard it is good but the room is small and the table are on top one another.

Room Tip: Try to get to back the back side of the motel. We have a couple travailing with us and their room on...

I am sorry that you felt the staff was giving you attitude when they were unable to meet your request for immediate resolution. As I have explained in the apology –compensation email sent to you, the front line staff do not have the access in the credit card system, for security reason, and therefore do not have access to account numbers or merchant numbers to have solved this problem on the spot. They did leave a message for the accounting department and the resolution was completed within 24 hours.

We were happy to get this hotel blocks away from the wedding we were attending. Rooms were clean and the parking was free, which is unusual for Vancouver. The breakfast is generous, for being included. Maricel and Jenina at the front desk were very helpful.
The rooms, though clean, which is most important ,are in need of updating. The rugs are very lumpy and the furniture quite scratched. We stay at Holiday Inns often and found this one very much in need of renovations.

Room Tip: Had an executive room with a couch, which had a view of the mountains and was away from the traffic.

This hotel is a few miles East of downtown and so it is inexpensive and has free parking. The rooms were nice and clean. The parking was underground and it involves manoervering arroung pillars that is not that bad. The breakfast included the regular cereals, milk, juice, fruits as well as hot items like eggs, bacon...
The hotel is at the junction of two main roads. The best views are if you get a North side. The South and East sides are the ones where you may get road noise especially ambulances or police cars. It all depends on the sensitivity of your ears.
Overall it is a good value worth the price.
Time visited was June 2013.

Room Tip: North side is best view. West side doesnt have a complete view. South and East side you could get ro...
