We stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront for 3 nites, Wed, Thur and Fri nights. The Hotel is at the Vancouver waterfront across from the Pan Pacific Hotel and adjacent to Gastown and Harbour Center and within walking distance of many attractions and many eateries including SteamWorks and Old Spaghetti Factory. The high-rise hotel has a very spacious, impressive entrance & Lobby and a (pricey) Restaurant with a rooftoop outdoor pool and indoor hot tub and workout area. Excellent rooms & ameneties, clean and nicely decorated hallways and a city view or harbor view. Staff was friendly and courteous. Pricey unless you score one of the internet-advertised specials.
The hotel is about a 20 minute ride from the Airport - we used the fixed-rate $39 towncar service that has a contract with the Airport (there also Taxis and train service direct from airport to station adjoining the hotel!). Watch for 3-nite specials, internet specials and Manager's specials on the Fairmont website. For Cruisers the Hotel is across the street from Canada Place Cruise Terminal and will take your luggage to the cruise ship and check it in for you.
