i stayed at ywca@beatty street in dec while attending a conf.
you get the following: friendly staff, clean & warm rooms, good housekeeping and great ambiance. count on the front desk staff for any assistance and help. in fact if you wish you could stop reading at this point and get the rest from the front desk!
the hotel has an almost ideal location. robson st and georgia st are full of shops and cafes. important ones are london drugs, sears, (pacific and bay are lil more costly) a good indian restaurant india gate@robson. add to this vancouver art gallery and vancouver public library virtually next door to ywca. and and of course this is just 5 mins walk from vancouver central skyline station. even stanley park is just a walk away for the health conscious! this is true of any other hotel in robson and georgia, but ywca is friendly to yr pocket. cost is cheap but not the quality! highly recommended for ppl on a budget, esp students.

This hotel is unique. It is similar to a no-frills hotel with a small room. However, it is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver so walking places is easy and the price is much less than you would find at a commercial hotel. It is a new building so it is extremely secure and was built with several price accommodations in mind. You can have a room with a private bathroom or a room without a bathroom at all, using the facilities down the hall. There is a shared kitchen and laundry available. Thus, there is a price for everyone. We met young people retired teachers, and groups of students. It was quiet, clean and friendly. Parking was inexpensive. Best of all, it produces income for the YWCA programs!

I stayed here for two nights at the start of my holiday. I had a single room with a shared bathroom, which means there is one shower and toilet shared between two rooms. My room was clean and basic, but had plenty of space, a wash basin and a fridge. The shared bathroom concept is a little strange as it can feel like there's a stranger in your en-suite (which, in fact, there is!). However, the locking system means that no-one can enter the other room by accident. The hotel's location is fantastic and, for the price, it is excellent value for money. There's also a small coffee bar in reception which is perfect for a quick and cheap breakfast.

This hotel accommodates many different kinds of travelers... it can be a hostel-style, or complete privacy is available. The prices are affordable, and I loved the underground parking where we were able to leave our vehicle the entire stay. CLEAN & SAFE! Nice, helpful staff, too.

The YWCA is a very good hostel located in downtown Vancouver. It is right at the edge of the downtown area and is easily acsessed by public transport. Get the sky train to the stadium/chinatown stop and its a short walk from there. Getting there by car could be hard with Vancouver's busy city centre roads.

The staff were very helpful and freindly providing us with all the info we needed on what to do and how to get there in Vancouver.

The room was good with a queen sized bed, a small fridge and a tv. The bathroom and toilet are shared by the whole floor, but this was never an issue because the hostel is so big I think we almost had the floor to ourselves. There was a kitchen and dining area on our floor as well.

Downstairs in the lobby there is internet available that accept coins. There is also a very small cafe serving snacks and drinks. The whole of the hostel is very clean and the rooms are serviced every day.

To be able to stay in Vancouver at a good rate is hard to do but this place ticked all the boxes. It was extremely good value and we had a lovely time staying here.
