“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2013 via mobile

Very nice hotel, spacious and well kept. Pool area very nice, except with a young child was disappointed to hear upon arriving at the pool from another guest, "be careful on the steps, the tiles over lap the edge and cut our children's feet up". Even after being super careful, our child also was cut on the tiles. This issue needs to be addressed, not only for the little ones, but for the safety of everyone. That is the only problem we had, otherwise great stay.

Thank you for your review and kind words. I'm so sorry to hear about your experience in the pool. This has not previously been brought to our attention nor have we experienced an issue in this area before.

We have completed a full assessment and for safety reasons have closed the pool for the next two weeks to completely re-grout and re-tile.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Kind Regards,

We arrived at 11am and were able to check in early, which was a wonderful treat for us so we could get our day started. It is a 5 minute walk to the aerobus to get to Granville Island. Allot 4 hours if you are a shopper to go in and out of the shops. There's a public market with more artisans and food stands. Look for the gentleman selling magnetic stands (clunc.com)-great gifts for the holidays! We ate a Cavino at night-not a large menu at all but the sandwich and salad was all we needed. Bfast is huge! Pancakes, waffles, sausages, eggs, roasted potatoes, hot cereal, yogurt, fruits, and good coffee. We walked to Gastown-took 20 minutes-weaved through Yaletown on the way back. We skipped Chinatown-heard it was in a bad section. Lots of homeless on the streets. Stanley Park was nice. We got a ticket becasue we weren't sure how the sytem worked. It's a 5 minute drive from the hotel. This hotel is in a great location. Staff was great. Would definitley recommend. Comfy beds. Huge kitchenette with a full size fridge. Go!

Room Tip: We had no clue there were balconies. Sounds nice. But we were there in November so it wouldn't h...

Just got back from a five night stay at the Residence Inn on Hornby. The room was fabulous - a very good size, perfect small kitchen, lots of space to spread out in. (The tag line on their key cards - Spread Out - is accurate.) I was on the 17th floor and had a balcony - the views were great. Given the location, the size of the room, and that it's a Residence Inn, the cost was reasonable.
Re the location - turn right out the door and in five minutes you're at the Vancouver Art Gallery and Robson Street; turn left and in five minutes you're at the wee boat that will take you to
Granville Island. Lots of great restaurants and coffee places in the area around the hotel. In particular - try Stepho's on Davie.
And finally - great staff; great service.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad rooms, but given the build up in the west end - the higher you g...

I am still at the hotel writing this review...my third night of four. Hubby and I have absolutely enjoyed our stay. The rooms are impressive and space well used. It is a room that you can spread out for a long stay and not feel closed in. First let me say, Bruno at the front desk made us feel welcome as soon as we checked in. Our room was not ready because we were very early to check in...he was quick to get us a room on the 18th floor with a balcony and an amazing view of the City. Our first time in Vancouver so this was a treat! Bruno took good care of us. The room was spotless and modern. The bed has great linens and was very comfy. We never heard any noise in the hallway or thru the walls...it was very peaceful. The little kitchenette had great appliances and was useful to have for our stay. Breakfast had lots of nice choices which they changed it up a bit each day. It is only open till 9am on a week day and 9:30 on a weekend...which seemed a bit early...but not a problem for us cauz of the 3 hour time difference. The Cavino restaurant attached to the hotel was very good...not a large selection on the menu but the food was fresh, reasonably priced and generous portion...appreciated the convenience. We did not use the gym, pool or jacuzzi but we did walk thru there and that too looked very well kept. We were able to walk to restaurants and stores and found the location of this hotel very convenient to everything. The clientele of the other guests all seemed business like and friendly...nice quick conversations on the elevators. I am a hotel "Diva" and a Platinum Marriott status member...little things bother me and I can be very critical...but this time I have to say...they got it completely right!

The room was nice and spacious, comfortable bed and pillows. The balcony provided breathtaking views of Vancouver. Was pleasantly surprised by the selection at breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.

I spent only one night here but I've logged 480 Marriott nights and this is one of the best Residence Inns. The staff was great, the room was pretty amazing and the breakfast in the am was top notch. I'll be back.

I stayed here in mid-October for work for 3 nights and really glad I stayed here. The room was spacious and had a fully functional mini kitchen area. Beds and pillows were comfy and the free wifi worked beautifully. Downstairs on the 2nd floor was a rather large spread for the complementary continental breakfast which I found was actually delicious with many options. Gym was decent with free weights and treadmills. Lobby is lovely with the fireplace and computer work stations, and the staff at the check-in were quite friendly. Given that so much in Vancouver is walkable from this hotel, I will definitely stay here again.

I'm so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us so much!

One quick note: our complimentary breakfast is a full hot and cold buffet, not just a continental, as you commented on. There are many options and choices available, from eggs and bacon or sausage, hot oatmeal, waffles, a "daily item", as well as cereal, fruit, yogurt, breads, etc.

Kind Regards,

Suzanne Allemeier, General Manager
