We stayed at this location for one night after a twelve night Alaska vacation. We have been to Vancouver before so we were looking for a casual neighborhood with some nice options to go explore. There were tons of local dining options in easy walking distance of the hotel. We were also able to take a nice walk along the waterfront heading towards Stanley Park.

The hotel was a quick and inexpensive taxi ride from the port. Also, it took about 25 minutes to get to the airport. I think the taxi fare from the port was about 8 CAD and to the airport was 28 CAD.

This is the nicest Residence Inn we have ever stayed at. Check in was quick, friendly, and efficient. They even kindly let us check in at 945 am.

There is a modern, nicely decorated inviting lobby with front desk and nicely appointed common area. They have a lobby with a fireplace and some comfortable seating. There is a small pantry for purchasing items next to the front desk as well as three computers and a printer for guest use. There is also a coffee bar that converts to a wine bar and bistro at night. The food looked good but the prices looked excessive so we got out into the neighborhood for meals.

The second floor had their common breakfast area as well as a nice gym for a limited service hotel. The indoor pool and hot tub, as well as some outdoor common space is located in this area. It would be nice if they had few more loungers outside. The fire pit in one of the outdoor areas seemed nice.

There is free Wi-Fi available in the lobby area and rooms. They ended up putting us near the elevator even though my profile says way from elevator, but given how early they let us check in that was no problem.

We liked the fact that an room key card is required to make the elevator work.

The rooms are very nice and modern. They have plenty of plugs to charge your devices. They have a nice wall of windows in the rooms, but the curtains could do a beter job blocking out light. (Too much of a gap at the top) The beds are comfortable, but annoyingly they don't use fitted sheets and the flat sheet is too small so comes off with every movement. The pillows were nice.

There is a nice sized work desk and also a breakfast bar. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, two burners, dishwasher, and sink.

They have a nice HD TV and we were able to hook our tablet up to the tv as well. The climate control works well and the blower motor stays on for white noise while the climate control is still functioning.

We had no noise from adjoining rooms nor outside city noise. Bathrooms are well equipped with plenty of storage space. There is a nice sized shower but no tub if that is important to you.

The Residence Inn includes a very nice breakfast buffet in the second floor common space. Eggs, potatoes, meat, french toast, yogurt, pastries, coffee, tea, and juices. They have plenty of seating and even real plates and silverware.

While not in the center of the tourist hotspots, the area has a nice local feel and every type of dining and entertainment option you could ask for all within easy walking distance. The tourist hop on hop off bus stops nearby as well.

We would absolutely recommend this location and would stay here again if we wanted to stay in the area for a personal trip. Room rate seemed appropriate. (We checked the rates, though we were on a reward stay)

The entire hotel is non-smoking which is always a plus.

Had the sheets been better, the hotel would have gotten a 5*.

Dear PCSanity,

Thank you for such an extensive and detailed account and review. You really highlighted all the great features of the hotel: location, free wifi and breakfast, pool, fitness centre and outdoor patio with fire pit. We are currently updating the menu in Cavino, so on your next stay you will notice some changes. We will definitely take your comments about fitted sheets into consideration. We do not currently use them as our sheets are laundered and ironed professionally. The cleaning process shrinks fitted sheets and destroys the elastic, which makes them unusuable for the hotel.

Thanks again for the great review.

Kind Regards,

Suzanne Allemeier, General Manager

Everything you expect from Marriott- comfy beds, full kitchen, large room (no couch, but not missed) and good free breakfast (the food service staff is efficient and friendly despite the hungry crowd). The decor seems new. Don't expect a view- you'll be out touring the city anyways. The location is walking distance to restaurants and 7-11 is across the street. The hop on hop off trolley picks up and drops off in front. Purchase ticket at the front desk. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for one away from elevator. We were on 7 th floor facing west. Had a view of city buildings, empty lot and run down house.

Thanks so much for the review. I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed breakfast, your room amenities and that great service at the front desk. The Hop On Hop Off tour is a favourite with m any of our guests.

We stayed here recently on a three city northwestern trip. We absolutely loved the hotel. The staff were nice, the beds comfy and the hotel in a convenient spot. The front desk staff recommended two restaurants to us, and both were excellent. (The Italian Kitchen and the Cactus Club). The breakfast was pretty extensive, but there was a bit of a mob scene down there in the mornings.

I don't normally stay at Residence Inn properties, even though I'm a platnium Marriott member - I normally go for full service Marriott hotels or Courtyards -- but there's a reason this property is ranked so highly in Vancouver. It's new, it's spacious, and the staff go above and beyond. I didn't get to see the other Marriott properties in town, but I would come back here without a doubt.

Nice clean hotel. Safe area, easy walking to many sites. Breakfast choices were good for free -- hot and cold items. Fitness room is not huge but definitely adequate. Did not use the pool. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed 2 nights, getting in about 8 am. We had a city tour at 8:30 so they held our bags because the room was not ready. We left and went for a walk down to the beautiful shoreline by the Bay. When we returned to take the city tour I wanted my tote bag and they couldn't locate it. When we returned from the tour they located it but I was worried all day. We had a light meal in their bistro which was very nice. Then in the middle of the night a screaming baby kept us up so we asked for another room. They complied right away. The next day we were gone all day to Victoria but the time we were there was comfortable and quiet. I would stay again,
