Arrived at the hotel after a 13 + hour flight from New Zealand. Was given a friendly welcome upon arrival. We had the free WIFI & keys explained to us. Had a single room suite (room 908), room was nice and tidy, beds firm and comfy, nice view. Fully equipped kitchen, which is helpful if you are on a budget. On the TV there is a channel where you can watch the laundry room live, which was odd at first, but made sense that there would be security to keep an eye on your washing. There is a small supermarket across the road (Urban Fare), although it is a little expensive, it was handy to have close by, as we brought all our breakfast & lunch supplies for the week, and its perfect to have close by in case you need anything urgently (eg sunscreen etc). Located in the supermarket is a self serve food bar, with salads, pastas, hot food, Chinese food, chicken nibbles etc. The hotel is close to a lot of restaurants, we dined a couple of times at Red Robin, it had a nice atmosphere and was reasonably priced, and the food is yummy. Around the corner is Robson street, great shopping. We did the hop on hop off tour, which is a great way of seeing the city, and the pick up and drop off times are great. Stanley Park is lovely, and if you like to walk, this is the place to go, and if you like squirrels, they are everywhere and quite friendly if you have food, the hop on hop off tour goes out there, and there is a horse and carriage ride that also goes around the park. We decided to get a rental car for the day and venture out to whistler and inquired about it at the hotel reception, the hotel does not have a rental car option, so gave us the name of a place that was close by ( a couple of blocks away). There was no offer to call the rental car place to see if there were cars available, so we walked the two blocks to find that there were no cars available, and was sent to another car rental place about 15 minutes away, once we finally located the car rental place, we were greeted with a lovely smile and welcome. We were given a Chevy impala (and being a supernatural fan I was delighted). We traveled the distance to whistler and had a lovely day there, we found a lovely restaurant called 'Wild Wood Pacific Bistro' we had a lovely brunch there, awesome service and price. If you are a supernatural fan, there are a lot of filming locations that you can locate, although you will need a rental car for this. My husband did the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which was quite expensive (US $35.00 per person) and wasn't sure whether it was worth it. You can go out to Granville Island (which isn't really and island) and have lunch/dinner there, we had a lovely meal at The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant, which had a nice friendly atmosphere. We had an enjoyable stay for our first time in Vancouver.

Room Tip: A rental car to Whistler (although the cost of the hotel car park is expensive) Hop on hop off tour is great Shop & eat at Granville Island

This is a great hotel! The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are awesome. Big condo style units, with bedrooms, bathroom, full kitchen (including stove, kettle, dishwasher, pots and pans!), living room with sofa and TV, and dining table and chairs. The location is perfect for downtown - 2 min walk to Robson St in the heart of the action. Top floors have specular views of the mountains and bay. These units would be worth likely $500k-$1 Mill. to buy if they were for sale. You will love it, and it is fully worth the cost.

This was our fourth visit to Carmana - this time with friends - and we had two executive double bedded rooms on the 25th floor.
As usual the room was immaculately clean and kept so during our 9 day stay. We have always liked the Carmana for its views and space and it did not disappoint again. The Kitchen is a great addition although this time we only used it for breakfasts, it is so easy to stock up with food from Urban Fayre across the road and of course the selection of restaurants nearby mean that you can always walk.
The worry is the Trump Tower being built - it will seriously obstruct the views north and reduce the attraction of this place - we shall see what we do next time we are in Vancouver.

Room Tip: High floor currently have great views

We stayed here for more than 5 days. The room that we had on the first day was smelly and dirty. The balcony was incredible dirty - there were stains of drink on the floor. We didn't ask to change room as it was very late when we checked in and we just need a room to sleep for couple hours as we are heading to Whistler early next morning.

The room that we had when we returned from Whistler was better. No smell and everything seem tidy and clean when we checked in. However, the housekeeper never vacuumed the carpet during our stay. I am not sure if they were understaffed or they just didn't properly trained the housekeepers but I'm sure no one had ever vacummed the carpet as the hairs that we left in the bathroom had never cleaned until the day we checked out. Also, they didn't replenish the toiletries for 2 days and they just tidied the bed and left.

On the last day before we checked out, we came back to our room in the afternnon after a short walk from Stanely Park. When we passed by the room next to us, we saw a housekeeping staff eating sandwich in the room while she was talking to someone on the phone. This is terrifying! We have stayed in many hotels over the word before, but had never seen any housekeeper would eat in the guest's room.

Overall I am disappointed with the housekeeping service, On the other hand the bellmen and the staff at the reception desk were polite and very helpful.

We wouldn't particularly recommend this hotel to anyone because of the room cleanliness issues.

Situated in the heart of City Center. Walking distance to everything. Especially restaurant and places to hangout. A block away from Robson street. Lots of places to shops. All suite rooms and very spacious. Clean and very friendly staffs. I would recommend for couple to stay in luxurious suite. Get a higher floor for best view of the city.
