“Good view depending on the rooms”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Stayed here on a few occasions.

High floors are great and facing the inlet is always good.
Corner rooms are quiet except when the A/C kicks in.
The rooms are a little dated but cannot deny that the location is really good.

Service is good from the staff.
The restaurant is worth a visit.

Swimming pool is a decent size.

I stayed at the Pinnacle for a couple of days in April. The location was great. Only a block away from Cole Harbour. Really nice for a morning walk or jog. The hotel was really well maintained. A nice clean room. Really nice restaurant and bar. The pool and gym area was really nice. Having a personal trainer there is a real nice touch that I have never seen at any other hotel I have stayed. Many places to have breakfast around the hotel. Would have been nice to have free WiFi in the room. Only in the lobby had free WiFi. The staff seemed pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: Have a room at higher levels facing Cole Harbour.

Although the rooms were average Marriott with dated bathrooms, the location and view were fantastic. Positives: staff all wonderful. Concierge got us to the right places and good restaurants with smiles and details. The entire staff was positive, helpful and everything was "of course" and "yes". This was my 4th stay in Vancouver and 4th hotel. My last being the Four Seasons. However this staff was exceptional. Negatives: old rooms, very old bathrooms. Tiny shallow tub and tiny shower that made it difficult to use soap & shampoo as the water from the shower head used 90% of the space. Concierge floor only open M-F but not Friday afternoon. Seems to be a Marriott thing.

Room Tip: High floor overlooking the water makes up for the negatives.

I stayed this Hotel as Part of Fan Expo 2014, it was an overall pleasant experience and everyone in the Service industry was nicer than you could ask for. unfortunately there was a few things that soured the experience. One thing is that checkout is at 12:00 PM exactly, you cannot check out after 12 and in fact they treat it as an extended stay and charge you full price for another days stay. this is apparently SOP so something to keep an eye out for. I ended up paying only half of this so that I could remove my luggage from my room. Another thing especially for the tech conscious is the high speed internet costs $15 a day. Also nearly everything but electricity and the phone goes towards your final bill so watch what you use. in summation if you are a professional traveler or staying on the company dime this is a perfect place to stay but if you are there for a convention you are better off staying somewhere farther away and saving your money for the convention itself.

Dear Aaron M,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with some feedback. I'm sorry to hear of your disappointing experience during your recent stay with us. Unfortunately, as a managed Marriott hotel, we are still mandated to charge for Wi-Fi, with free access available in our lobby and restaurant.

I apologize that your request for a later check out was not met. Everything we do is aimed at providing you with an excellent hotel experience. We would appreciate the opportunity follow-up further, to try and avoid issues like this in the future. Our Marketing Coordinator will be following up with you directly.

Again, thank you for passing on your feedback. I hope you will allow us an opportunity to provide you with an exceptional guest experience if your travels bring you back to this area.

Sincerely,
Joann Pfeifer

This was my first trip to Vancouver during the weekend of my daughter's birthday. The front desk was very accommodating as we tried to find a room with a good view on the waterfront. The concierge was very helpful -- especially Josh G. who not only found a great restaurant for our birthday dinner, but reserved it himself, and even pleasantly surprised us with chocolate cake waiting for us in our room when we returned. The concierge were very helpful with suggestions for where to visit (and where not) in our short weekend stay.

The only minor complaint was that the breakfast served in the lounge ends at 9am on weekdays, a little too early for folks who are on vacation and out late.

Room Tip: There are not many rooms that face the waterfront, and trying to get them on a high floor is totally...

Working downtown and stayed for 1 week. The hotel is in a great location for business and vacation - located within a short walking distance to public transit. Buses, 'skytrain' and 'seabus' are easily accessible and perhaps the best way to move around the city and surrounding areas. If you need to attend with a vehicle - best check parking pricing as it is expensive. Also check room pricing - as some associates stayed at the Hyatt - and had similar room at a reasonable discount to the Marriott. Marriott is closer to waterfront and restaurants, whereby Hyatt- is closer to the multitude of restaurants and shopping opportunities on Robson Street.

The room was well appointed but, when working away for the week, it would have been nice to have mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable and found the room very quiet - with limited ambient noise - on 18th floor. Pillows very comfortable so I had to check - 'Pacific Coast Feather Company' such that recently purchased some for home.

Front desk, and other, staff were friendly and efficient.

We arrived at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel at 8am after a long haul flight from Sydney. We were absolutely delighted to check in straight away, shower and catch a couple of hours sleep before setting out to explore Vancouver.

The hotel is located in the business district of Vancouver just a short walk from the harbour, Robson street shopping precinct and the touristy Gastown area.

Our room was small, quite old and in need of refurbishment soon. However, it was immaculately clean with beautiful bedding and good quality bathroom towels, mats etc.

The room contained a safe. Internet was only free in the lobby.

The gym was better equipped than the average hotel with a selection of free weights, benches and a rowing machine in addition to the usual workout paraphernalia. My husband made good use of the pool and steam room.

We had drinks in the bar area and were able to order from the restaurant menu, without moving to the more formal dining area. Although we didn’t partake, the breakfast buffet had a wide selection of inviting items.

We would have stayed at the Marriott on our return journey through Vancouver but it was much more expensive the second time around in comparison to the price we paid this first visit. We were able to secure another excellent hotel for a much cheaper price.
