“Great Location in Vancouver!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 via mobile

Marriott in Vancouver was beautiful with spectacular view of city. We were on the 27th floor with amazing views! Staff and service was 1st class! We were on an Alaskan Cruise in the Regent Navigator Seven Seas from Anchorage and ended in Vancouver! What a lovely, clean city! Would highly recommend!

Stayed with my wife for our honeymoon here before a cruise to Alaska, very friendly staff and a so convenient that the tour buses stop in the lobby, we also could walk with all our luggage to the cruise terminal (2 blocks away)... so it was a good location. I had trouble with the wifi, but after a while and some calls to the front desk and the operator it was fixed... Asked for a late check out and it was granted without any issue..

Room Tip: Top floor is better..

Went to the Marriott expecting a 5 star stay. They lacked an in room mini bar as well as PPV movies? We booked online and noticed that while it did say check in was at 4pm, early check in was available but not guaranteed. We arrived around 1pm after booking online and were told that the room we booked (on the 30th floor) was not available for early check in but we didn't want to wait so said we were willing to check into a different room. Then we were told there was a room available on the 7th floor available now, but we would have to pay the same price we paid online because we booked online, which meant the price we paid for our 30th floor superior room would remain the same even though we were getting a worse quality room much lower down and with a view of the street. I thought that was quite ridiculous, wish I had cancelled the room and booked at a better hotel in Vancouver. This was the first high quality room I have been to that both did not have a mini bar, or pay-per-view movies on the television. A good room to sleep in but not for anything else.

For $300+ a night I would expect more.

Yes, we do love this hotel. It's the greatest location, close to good restaurants for any meal (try the cactus club for dinner), and it's an easy walk for us to the cruise port but we are regular walkers. It's not far but if you are weak or frail, a taxi only has to take you a few blocks.

The Marriott Pinnacle is a hotel with a variety of room shapes and sizes. We've stayed here a few times and our room has always been different but special. They honor our loyalty level by always giving us a high floor without our even having to ask. This time it was room 2719 for 3 nights beginning June 7. The concierge lounge has a nice food selection. The scrambled eggs in the morning are so fresh and tasty, not those prepackaged kind like you get some places. Real food. Plenty of options. The views are great from the lounge as they were from our room. I only took one picture of a ship coming in which I am uploading (but trip advisor sometimes delays the photo posts).

Our room had a huge curved window the length of the room with a large, spacious seating area and the very comfortable bed tucked over to the side. There was plenty of room around the bed and I liked how it was on the far side of the room. We had a separate shower and tub. There were a lot of outlets conveniently located around the room. The wifi was fast and only required one log in a day and then connected automatically. It's truly nice to have fast reliable wifi when traveling outside of one's own country when the cellular network isn't used.

What keeps us coming back here in addition to how clean and comfortable this hotel is, is the staff. What a pleasure they all are. Dennis was always around at reception to great us and other guests. The same, extra nice and helpful bellmen, Raul and Thomas are here each year. This is a good sign when a hotel can retain employees.

We did move across the street for three days for the remainder of our stay. We initially booked thinking we'd go home from here but decided to stay for another cruise and the Marriott Pinnacle didn't have 3 more nights available and the Renaissance did. We thought it would be good to try another Marriott brand and moving across the street wasn't a big deal. When the man at the front desk at the Marriott realized our room wasn't ready early at the Renaissance he called over and pretty much got it ready. I think this man's name was Shawn who was so helpful in making our move so smooth.

I just can't say enough about the great people who work here and their consistant and continued helpfulness. Dennis and Raul even waved from across the street later in the week as they saw us go by.

We'll definitely be back here. We love Vancouver and the Marriott Pinnacle.

I wanted to visit Vancouver since they had the Olympics in that city. What a gorgeous city, clean, visitor friendly and plenty to do. Buy a hop on, hop off pass, catch the trolley and go through Stanley Park. Beautiful, large rose garden, excellent meal at the Fish House in the park and the aquarium was a really terrific place to visit. Then on to Granville Island via ferry (included in trolley pass)...neat shops, many eateries and a great market. Food is a bit pricey but by looking around some, there are good eateries that are not as expensive. For the adventurous, you can take a tram or a challenge walk up Grouse Mountain.

Room Tip: For a view of the waterfront, request a corner room on one of the top floors..fantastic view!

Green Features: Very green, as with other Marriott's I have stayed at, there is a program in place to conserve water by changing bedding every few days as well as same with towels.

Nice rooms, very helpful staff. Two minute walk to the water front and much cheaper rates than the hotels right on the water front.

The small coffee shop around the corner makes much better coffee than the Starbucks across the road.

In-room Wi-Fi is dear (just under $16) but I signed up for Marriott's reward program and charges were waived.

Would definitely stay here again.

Well this must be the tenth time we have stayed here. Great location, good lounge and amazing staff. The location is perfect. A little walk will get you to Stanley Park or Gas Town. Will go back again soon. A lot of good food locations close by is always a bonus too.
