Here is the hotel for you if you want to explore Vancouver. The location just outside Gastown is convenient to public transportation (Waterfront Station--SeaBus, SkyTrain and Canada) and all of downtown. The hotel itself was immaculate and the staff were always there, cheerful and excited to help. Try to stay on the Signature floors to get access to the Lounge for breakfast and snacks...super. Access to all floors is by keycard only which made us feel very secure. Housekeeping staff were so efficient as to be invisible, but our room was always clean and the bed was turned down. We will never stay anywhere else in "Raincouver".

Room Tip: Signature floors or Corner King on high floors.

I stayed at the Delta Vancouver Suites this past Friday and Saturday, Sep. 23 and 24. I was attending a conference at the SFU conference centre, to which the hotel is attached. The convenience of having the two right beside each other is great, it allows you to run up to your room for a few minutes of peace and quiet when the opportunity arises.
I shared the room with my friend and colleague.
We had a room on the 23rd floor, which had amazing views over the harbour, parts of downtown, and the North Shore mountains. Because the weather was great, we really enjoyed those views.
The room itself was bright, modern and spacious. The living room part was well equipped with a couch, coffee table, comfy chair, desk and good office chair, and a cabinet housing the TV, fridge, etc.
The bedroom had two extremely comfortable beds, flat screen TV and a dresser. There are two closets, which again is convenient.
The bathroom is well lit and well equipped as well, and the spacious entry hall made moving around simple.
I love that both rooms have windows that open. With the hotel being on a busy downtown street, there is definitely a fair amount of street noise when the windows are open, but after all, you are downtown, and with the windows closed there is little noise.
Being on the club level, we were able to use the Signature lounge, which was very convenient for breakfast and cups of real tea. The lounge, again, is well equipped with comfy chairs and a great deck, which we didn't use, but which has great views. The breakfast was nicely done, fresh fruit, the usual breads and pastries, juice, a hot dish of some sort, etc.
The staff was amazing, at check in/out, the lounge, and the Signature Lounge.
Even though the conference was a busy occasion, the hotel helped to make the weekend as relaxing as it could be under the circumstances, and I look forward to returning some time soon.

We booked the Delta for three nights to start our Honeymoon (although we were travelling with our 8 year old son) It is a business hotel and the standard of the room and facilities is to be expected for a 4* Hotel.
Where the Delta is a great hotel is the customer service, as mentioned by so many other tripadvisor posts. They honestly can not do enough for you, the breakfast chef made a full packed lunch for us in an hour, whilst on his own and in full swing of breakfast, it was not too much trouble at all. The other mention of great service would be Donny, nothing was too much trouble and constantly asked if there was any info we needed or directions etc etc
Location is great we walked everywhere, no more that a couple of blocks to most of the tourist spots and only two blocks from the main transport hub of the Waterfront.
Loved our stay and would definately book again!

Room Tip: Stay up as high up as possible and request the harbour view side

The staff here is outstanding. Very friendly and informative. The rooms were very good - laid out as a suite with a small sitting room and a bedroom divided by a door/wall. Our room had a king bed, but a small chair and a desk/chair combo whereas our friend's room had a couch, but a queen bed. Not sure which is better - I think they are similar in size.

The lobby is somewhat small, with individual desks serving as check in/out stations. The parking is very expensive - $37 valet overnight, $34 self-parking. That was almost 1/3 of our daily rate!

The location is very good. Very close to Gastown, and walkable distance to the waterfront and Stanley park. Vancouver is a very walkable city overall.

Make sure to visit Granville Island (touristy, but fun) and Denman Street on the southern side. Lots of cool and fun restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. We have also stayed at the Hyatt and the Marriott nearby and I would say this hotel is slightly below those two, but not by much.

Very nice, upscale hotel. The service was outstanding. The rooms were comfortable. It is in the middle of business district, so it gets a bit noisy from the street. However, if you close the windows, the noise level is tolerable. The location is incredible. It is walking distance to almost everything a tourist needs. It is also very close to the metro station that directly links the hotel to the airport. The only issue that we had was the hotel's internet connection kept breaking down, however, it was fixed after being reported relatively quickly.

Room Tip: The higher floors have better views. There is free wireless internet service in the lobby. However...

Dear Valued Guest,
Outstanding is such an outstanding word to read on tripadvisor. A sincere thank you! This is a very nice comment about our service and your experience – we are now motivated to do even more…
I am truly sorry that you experienced a challenge with our internet service during your stay. This year we upgraded our internet to a fantastic WiFi service. We have been receiving some very positive feedback regarding connectivity & speed. It is very unfortunate that you didn’t have this experience.
I hope that you will join us again soon. Please do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything I may do to ensure your internet is running optimally during your next visit.
Wishing you well,

This hotel offers large suite style rooms, with separate living and bed rooms. The decor is a bit bland, but ours was clean and sported two flat screen TVs. Many have harbor views, although of a less attractive part. The hotel is between the heart of downtown Vancouver, and Chinatown areas, with Gastown being only a 5 minute walk away. As such, the immediate neighborhood is somewhat seedy. Security is necessarily tight at the hotel. Parking is very expensive and awkward to access.

The hotel staff is great. Weekend rates are often a bargain, as the prime focus of the hotel is on weekday convention business.Delta Privilege membership is easy to get and recommended for perks such as newspapers and free local calls.

Recommended for those needing big rooms, and for the adventurous not put off by a bit of big city realism.
