“Excellent service, great room, quiet”
Reviewed 26 June 2009

We stayed in the hotel for 3 days and were very pleased about the size of the room.
The location is perfect if you want to stroll around downtown.
The only negative thing is that you have to pay extra if you want to use WIFI internet in the room.

Did not do much (any) research on Vancouver and we ended up here as friends had already booked. A really nice hotel, all the staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly. Not much in the way of facilities but the gym looked decent. Our room was fab - separate bedroom, nice little living area with armchairs. We were offered an 'upgrade to a room with sofa instead of armchairs for $20 p.n. but we declined. If you head NW from the hotel to the waterfront it's amazing. If you head SE along Hastings St (to Chinatown) you clearly have not done your research. Truly depressing scenes of poverty and degradation to say nothing of the potential for danger. We quickly and nervously flagged a cab as soon as we realised our mistake. We arrived in an SUV with a roofbox so we were too big for the car-park. We had to go with valet parking for a very steep $30 per night (self-park was $27) and they basically parked it at the end of the alley beside the hotel. Not really secure and it came back covered in pigeon poop. To his credit the bell-boy I mentioned it to made a reasonable attempt to clean it up.

I would probably stay again. Good location for waterfront, Stanley Park and Robson St. Just don't bring a car and dont walk to Chinatown via Hastings St.

I tagged along on my fiancee's business trip here and although the room was already paid for, I would pay out of my own pocket to stay here again.
The reception staff and concierge were both helpful and friendly.
The room was great, a corner suite with the room split into two sub-rooms with a sliding frosted-glass divide between the bedroom and lounge. The king bed was a dream and could have slept forever in there but Vancouver is worth seeing ;-)
The breakfast was ok, but a little pricey for what you got. There's much better deals on the harbour-front, most notably the Sunday brunch at The Lift - a little pretentious but great food.
It's located 2 blocks from the Steamworks Pub which has great views of the water-front and North Vancouver. It's a very picturesque 20minute walk along the harbour-side, past Canada Place and over to Stanley Park. There's a bike rental place where the sea-planes take off from (WestCoast) and it's about $6 per hour or $30 for 24hours, very reasonable & would recommend for cycling around Stanley Park.

We loved this hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights with our 7 and 9 year olds. The reception desk staff were great and even provided the kids with a kids' pack with a couple of games - much appreciated. They loved the cookies. Our room was very spacious, quiet, comfy and clean. The location was great and near the ferry terminal and buses. We caught public transport everywhere - even to/from the airport - and it was so easy with a day pass each. This really added to the value of our stay. We loved Vancouver and this hotel was icing on the cake.

This is a suite hotel, and our suite was great. Once again, I need to tell you that internet is not included in the room's rate, so if you want to browse, you must pay for it; however, if you bring your laptop to the lobby level, there's a little lounge where you can sit on, and you can ask one of the concierges to give you a daily connection code to connect to the internet FOR FREE!, but again, this is only useful if you are sitting in the lobby area; but at least you have free internet, that's better than having nothing at all!

I stayed here the 2nd week in April for five nights. The room was quiet (as I had requested), clean, and very comfortable. The restaurant is expensive ($30 for a 2-egg breakfast) but pleasant and good. Excellent service from all staff, from the waitresses in the restaurants to the cleaning staff and the people at the front desk.

This was my first trip to Vancouver, and I was quite busy: the location was excellent for what I needed. If I come back as a tourist (and I hope to someday--Vancouver is wonderful), I would probably stay elsewhere, closer to the sea wall where there are lots of nice looking small cafes and restaurants. Fast food and pizza for $1.25 a slice was all that was quickly available within 2 blocks of this hotel, and I didn't have time to go far for meals.

The hotel is secure, but the general downtown area is sketchy at night--deserted streets nearby. During the day, the location is good. Several blocks away is Gastown, and in 10 minutes' walk one can be strolling in Chinatown's Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Garden. The walk is longer--about 40 minutes walk for me, but I'm a stroller, not a strider--to Stanley Park, which is amazing.

Again, for touring the location is pretty good; for nicer dining, not so good. The views are of other skyscrapers. Service is excellent across the board at this hotel. I thought the pillows were a bit rocklike, but I slept fine anyway. I would stay there again at the conference rate I had ($129 CA) but probably not at the much higher rack rate.
