we switched to this hotel at the last minute and were lucky enough to get a special rate on our suite. The hotel was beautiful and the staff made the last minute hotel switch a breeze.
The hotel staff were helpful and were able to rush the cleaning of our room to allow us to get early check in, even though we were just booking the hotel on the same day we planned to begin our stay. Later in our trip, we inquired about whether the hotel had a pool. Although it doesnt (it has a jaccuzi and steam room but no pool) the staff arranged for us to be able to use a pool in another hotel nearby for free.
The hotel is close to downtown Vancouver, and in walking distance to many restaurents. Overall, it was pretty central to Vancouver as a whole, although it did not provide a great view from any part of the hotel.
We stayed in a suite on the 6th floor which had a queen bed and pull out couch. The room was chic and clean, and served our needs. The bathroom was somewhat small, but that was because the vanity was not in it, which turned out to be convinient because it allowed people to use the bathroom while others used the sink/mirror.
This hotel offers a unique set of luxuries in their room. These include a yoga mat, hair straightener, hair curler, nailpolish remover, makeup remover, and espresso maker, along with the standard hair dryer, mini fridge, robes and slippers, T.V.s, etc. It also offers free bike rentals for its guests, and although i didnt get a chance to try it out, it is very practical for Vancouver because many people bike, expecially in Stanley park.
The hotel does not serve breakfast, but have an adjoining restaurant where you can get it. I went to this restaurent for lunch (Frankies) and was very dissapointed. tthe food was not enough to be filling, and overall tasted average, but was very expensive. I cannot comment on how the breakfast was, but I would not choose to go there.
I got a discounted rate on my suite which made it a great value, but depeding on the rate you get it may not be. Keep in mind parking is 14 dollars a day and breakfast is not included. Still, the hotel is beautiful and offers a luxurious experience, so you will not be dissapointed.
