Stayed for quick weekend visit at this updated, comfortable hotel. We were needing close proximity to the hospital and we got it! We were able to walk about six blocks for hospital visits. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Front desk helpful and friendly. Comfortable beds, clean hallways and clean rooms. We even had a fridge! And very close to Cambie bus/train station!! So convenient. Would recommend this place and stay again.

Greetings from the Holiday Inn Vancouver-Centre!

I would like to thank you for your comments on convenient location and helpful staff.

As you mentioned, we are only two blocks away from the Canada Line skytrain station. There is also a bus stop outside of the hotel main entrance.

We stayed in this hotel overnight. The location wasn't too far from the downtown area and shopping sites, as well as Stanley Park. We walked two blocks from the hotel and got on the skytram and took a short ride to the "Waterfront" stop, which is also the terminus for that line. From there it was an easy walk to the Robson shopping district. You can also walk from there and be at the waterfront and Canada Place within a few blocks. Stanley Park was quite a stroll, I would recommend taking a bus from the terminus if you want to go there.
The hotel itself was nice. The staff were very helpful, I give them 5 stars. The hotel was a little dated, but not bad. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was very clean. There is a charge for parking, but that is to be expected in an urban area like this.
All in all, if you want reasonably priced accommodations in a location that is close to downtown, this is a good place. I'm sure you could get a location that is a little close to downtown, but you would pay a good bit more. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Wee enjoyed our king size "suite" with a balcony in a corner room. The balcony offered so...

I had a most enjoyable stay at this Holiday Inn. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, guiding me to the local transit and airport. Food was great in the restaurant and the housekeeping staff was also helpful. Location was great with many shops nearby and a short taxi ride from the VIA train station.

Nice hotel, clean and well taken care off. It's only a few blocks from the Canada Line 'Broadway City Hall' Station. The matresses were comfortable, and the rooms have a fridge, which is important because there are a lot of good restaurants on Broadway, so you'll have somepace to store that Chinese Food for breakfast the next morning. Gym was OK, maybe all those good restaurants made it hard to get motivated.

Room Tip: If using the Canada line to get around, get a day pass for $9.00.

My wife and I stayed here for a one night weekend getaway. We stayed here a while ago and it was far less than spectacular. However, it looks like most of the updates are complete and it was a much better experience. I was upgraded to a view room (1429).

The hotel is easy to get to along a major traffic artery. It is only a couple of blocks away from the Canada line if you're commuting from the airport via the Canada Line subway. Self parking is available and we had no trouble finding a spot. There are a lot of nice little shops and restaurants along Broadway. It's a brisk walk to the downtown core or a short cab or subway ride. Our room was well decorated and it appeared as though a lot of effort and attention to detail was put into the updating. there is a small balcony that provides a view of False Creek, north shore mountains, Burrard & Granville St. bridges and is great for viewing the sunset.

There are plenty of outlets that are easy to access and lots of storage. We found the bed to be comfortable with proper sized pillows for a king bed. The washroom is smaller but well laid out and clean. Internet access seemed stable but not blazingly fast. There is tasteful art in the room and the desk chair is reasonable functional and comfortable.

On the down side we found the elevators to be a bit slow. The tv in the room is small and does not have HD programming available. The shower head was at about my mouth and I'm only 5'10". The housekeeping staff keeps their radio volume very high so if you're trying to sleep in you may hear them from outside the room.

These were minor annoyances for us. I would definitely recommend this property especially if you want good value and want something outside of downtown.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor room with a view.

Dear Allan A,

Greetings from the Holiday Inn Vancouver-Centre!

Thank you very much for staying with us again! I am very happy to hear you enjoyed our newly renovated hotel.

I would also like to thank you for your detailed comments on our new guest room and convenient location.

As for the HD channels, we are currently working with our in-room-movie provider as their equipment is not HD compatible. I have also communicated with our housekeeping staff to keep the radio volume down on the guest floor. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

If there is anything else we can assist you with in the future, please do not hesitate to let us know.

I stayed here one night on a business trip. There is parking (not free) right in the same building as the hotel, which is convenient. The rooms had plenty of room. The staff seemed fairly friendly. The hotel has 2 lifts, and one owas out of order, and the remaining one was slow. Waiting for the lift was a bit of a joke, and was always a way to start up a converstation! I left too early for breakfast. The Banana Leaf up the road is a great place to eat.

Dear Kengele,

Greetings from the Holiday Inn Vancouver-Centre!

Thank you very much for your comments on our convenient parking and friendly staff.

I am sorry one of the elevators was out of order due to an unexpected maintenance reason. We normally schedule a monthly maintenance check performed by a technician from our contracted elevator company. I have expressed our concern with them to have the elevators checked more frequently, although they are both newly remodeled during the major renovation. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Stayed here for 10 days in August 2013, and am staying here again another 2 weeks now. The hotel is well-located, away but not too far from Downtown. Skytrain station just a few blocks away, bus stops abundantly located within very close walking distance, surrounded by good restaurants (including organic, Mexican, fusion, Japanese, Asian, Chinese seafood, sandwich bars, burgers), drugstores, medical centre and clinics all within one to a few minutes' walk. The staff are fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful, from front desk through housekeeping and the bar/restaurant crew. The rooms are clean and well-appointed, with the basic necessary amenities and facilities, and constant wireless internet connectivity. The self-service laundry room at the lower lobby is bright and clean, and the machines there wash and dry as required. I find this hotel non-fussy but efficient, and a good base for business as well as holiday. My one and only dislike is that it is quite near a hospital and every once in a while, you may be startled by sirens of ambulances. Try to secure a room on the North side, away from the main thoroughfare. A recommended hotel!

Room Tip: Request for a room on the North end of the building.
