We travelled with a group and stayed here for our first and last night in Canada. We spent 8 days traveling through the Rockies and had free and fast Internet everywhere but here and found that very annoying. However the staff were good at explaining that changes are afoot, too late for us though! Apart form that the rooms were large, beds were comfortable. Lack of utilities, eg. Knives, forks and spoons was strange and only one washing machine on the 5th floor was also annoying.

They appear to have forgotten we had arranged breakfast and set us up at the back away form all others, but I felt the food was quite average, the fruit was OK but no options for muesli or cereal and the cooked food was fairly bland and not very nice taste wise. I did enjoy the fruit and the pastries were handy for on the road travel.

I just wanted to clarify a couple of things for those guests who may be reading this review. As of June 1st, Wifi Internet in all guest rooms is now completely free. For guests who wish to take advantage of our full kitchens, we do offer cutlery and cookery for 2 in all of our rooms. Extra place settings can be requested through our housekeeping department and are readily available. Thank you for letting us know about your dining experience. We've shared your thoughts with our executive chef. As a second options to our guests, we do offer muesli, cold & hot cereals, fruit and other pastries in our sit down cafe which is open at 06:30am.

Thank you again for your comments.

Best regards,

Marshall

We travelled as 2 couples in mid May. After some initial confusion at reception (we had asked for rooms together, but apparently this is never guaranteed) we were allocated rooms on the 18th floor.
My husband & I had a great view from the balcony out towards Granville Island end of Burrard St, Room 1803.The suite was large with a vey comfortable bed and separate living area/kitchen. We did have an issue with the toilet overflowing but this was swiftly dealt with and did not happen again during our 3 night stay.
Miles at reception was vey helpful and sold us tickets for the hop on/off bus which stops outside the hotel. This is a boon to anyone sightseeing and we saw more of Vancouver than we have before.
Gerry was also great holding our luggage while we went to collect our vehicle and also giving us directions to the ferry port. His directions were far easier than Google maps. Thanks guys!

Only downside is the street noise and we did overlook the hospital which meant the odd siren, but this is the middle of a large city!

Upside great location for Robson Street, and the hop on/off bus tour.

Didn't use the restaurant but we did go to Joe's on Davie St for breakfast, a great find!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the hospital

I stayed here on business for a conference. It was less expensive than the Sheraton across the street, and just as convienient. The cooridors and rooms have a bit of an older feel, but the hotel has been renovated, and the rooms are large and comfortable. The spa was very nice, and the pool and eucalyptus steam room are open to all guests at no charge.

I stayed at the Century Plaza Hotel for three nights at the end of May while attending a convention at the Sheraton across the street. The hotel is in an excellent location. All staff were pleasant and efficient. They did make you feel like you were special. There was very good elevator service in this hotel. I never had to wait more than a few seconds. This is very unusual for a hotel of this size. The service in the restaurant was very efficient friendly and the menu items were excellent. The room was large and well maintained. The TV was old but worked well. The hotel was quiet but the streets had a lot of sirens throughout the night. It was also nice that the windows could be opened letting in fresh air. The AC did not work, but was not needed when the windows were opened.

Good location for walking Vancouver. Rooms large and clean with good city views. Handy, reasonably priced cafe on ground floor. No tourist information but reception staff helpful.
