I would say this stay was indeed my most enjoyable, yet most expensive, stay I've ever had. What really sells the hotel are two major things: The view and the front desk customer service. Our stay was really enjoyable and I would stay here again. Be warned however, that if you are expecting a ding and worn-free hotel, you will be disappointed. Also, keep in mind that this hotel is downtown; you will hear emergency vehicle sirens. We still had no problems getting good sleep.

We stayed on the 28th floor of the hotel facing the south side. The view was fantastic with views of the city and of the water to the west. The room was large, but felt smaller than my 770 square feet apartment; the site claims the rooms to be 950 square feet. The bed was large and comfortable, but caused the drawers to be really cramped.

The front desk customer service was fantastic. They allowed me to print my Vancouver overlook tower tickets from their computer when the cafe next door was closed. They also helped look for salt and pepper that we forgot to purchase when we were at the supermarket.

So why only the 4 circles?

The only real downfalls of this place had to do with the facilities. The laundry facilities aren't that great. There was one washer and two dryers located on the 5th floor. The hotel was also lacking a decent business office facility. There was one computer in the cafe next door, but I would expect more from a hotel of this size. The wifi in the rooms was slow. I measured just under 1Mbps on speedtest.net, but was still able to make Skype calls. Lastly, this is the only hotel I stayed at where there was no fitness/weight room. I also do not know if there was any in-door pool that did not need to be paid for; just the spa.

Century Plaza Hotel has good sized rooms. Close to Art Museum, Robson St, Davies St and walking distance to shops and restaurants of all kinds. There is no exercise room but a decent pool and steam room and spa for the ladies. There is also a nice coffee shop and restaurant within. It is an easy hotel to sink down in to..not too fancy dancey and well kept up or an older hotel.. The room rates were good too. It had a personal feel to it for a big hotel.

Room Tip: face away from Burrard St Less noise.

Great location easy access to the metro lines for the airport or other venues. Nice ambiance that makes it seem NOT like a hotel chain When breakfast AND parking are included in the price iit is a very good value

Stayed here on a Groupon, and thought it was the Coast Plaza Hotel. Oh well.
We got a Jr suite on an upper floor, per our request. The room itself is kind of odd. The bed (which creaked loudly whenever either of us moved - at least it was big) was in a large alcove flanked by large columns topped with box a pond crown molding. As a result, there were no bedside tables, nor reading lamps.
We had a "kitchen" consisting of a microwave and a small refrigerator. Under the counter, and alongside the fridge were the only drawers in the room, and the largest of those had a teakettle, teapot, and toaster in it.
This means there was no dresser. A smallish closet contained the usual unstealable hangars, an ironing board and iron, and a foot massage/foot bath device! Oddest room "amenity" I've ever seen!
The tv was a nice flat screen, but was viewable only from the couch, not the bed. There was an overstuffed chair in the far corner of the room, and a glass topped table with two chairs to round out the furnishings.
Bathroom was nice, with a tub/shower combo. The tub was deep and was jetted, we didn't use that feature so cannot comment.
Be advised that the hotel is immediately next door to a hospital, so there are sirens at all hours, not constant, but there. As with any city hotel, ear plugs are recommended.
Parking is not included, but was available for 21CAD for the three nights, with in/out privileges.
The hotel is located conveniently to downtown and the west end, Davie Street is just a few blocks over, lots of good restaurants there.
There is a spa associated with the hotel, we got a $20 voucher when we checked in, but their services start at 130, so I chose not to use it.

Great view of the city. Very clean hotel, but the bed was hard. The people were nice and helpful. I think the hotel was worth the money we paid, but the heat should definitely work in every room. That was a real turnoff.

If you want to sleep, don't book this hotel. The beds are crappy mattresses that feel like sleeping on coils.
It's really hard to understand how a hotel could be in the business to supply a place to sleep and then their beds are crap and you can't sleep. I'm not exaggerating, everything else is great about this hotel, you just can't sleep.

We pulled our old car up to the front door and a young gentleman opened my door so I could gracelessly disgorge myself. Took our luggage and I felt our mismatched carrier bags gave no pause to him. Merry Christmas to the whole warm staff.
