“Probably one of the best located hotels in Vancouver”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Stayed for two weeks on beginning of this month. Me and my girlfriend got the normal suite at 9th floor, we thought was huge, with a very good bedroom, nice living room and kitchen, a bathroom and a small closet. The only "problem" was the street noise, mainly because the hotel is located next to St. Paul's Hospital, so there was some sirens day and night. But it wasn't nothing that you can't live with.
The staff is, overall, friendly, very dedicated and helpful, aiding us from getting a cab to indicating how and where to get the shuttle to Whistler.
The hotel has a restaurant, a cafe and the spa. The cafe is a good place to quick meals and drinks but the restaurant stands out. We went there at the first night for dinner and had the Salmon pizza, which was surprisingly good, and several other times at the morning for the incredible breakfast, trying to taste every meals the menu had. Sadly we didn't have time to try the spa.
Now the location, where this hotel really shines out. The hotel is located at the Burrard street, one of the main streets of Downtown; there are two bus stops, one at each side of the street, right in front of the hotel; is near an always helpful 7/11 and the Davie street, where you can find a lot of nightclubs and it is famous by its LGBT approach; the free shuttle to Capilano Bridge stops in front of the hotel; you can walk 5 minutes to get to Robson Street, most famous for its stores (Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, Foot Locker, etc); you can walk for 10 minutes and you'll be at Burrard Metro Station.

Stayed here 3 times during our visit to BC, 3 nights and then 2 one night stays, either side of trip to Whistler. Efficient check in each time and free upgrade to suite for ech stay, final night, and 3rd stay of holiday, which was to celebrate a birthday, we were upgraded to a Penthouse suite. All rooms were very comfortable, with excellently appointed kitchens, and had good views over Vancouver. In two of the rooms we were higher than that Vancouver look-out tower! Very handy for public transport, buses outside the door and underground a short walk. We took a taxi from the airport when we initially arrived from the UK, but on subsequent journeys to and from the airport and bus depot we used the underground/ sky train system. Rocky Mountaineer to Whistler connecting bus picked us up, and dropped off, just opposite the hotel and hop-on hop-off trolley buses stop outside. Cafe very reasonable and good quality, used for take-away breakfast to eat in our suite. 4, not 5, rating because decor in need of update in some areas/rooms and single glazing means traffic noise if in rooms above the main road.

Room Tip: High and on back corner

The location was the major attraction as we were going to Bard on the Beach and could walk or catch the bus outside the hotel. Beyond Coffee had great snacks and drinks to take along on our daytime walks. First class and affordable.

We stayed here twice - either side of cruise to Alaska. The staff said that it was a pleasure to work for this family run hotel instead of a chain hotel. We had a complimentary upgrade to a suite and had superb views of Vancouver at night. The room had a well equipped kitchen, lounge, and bathroom. Coffee and tea were available. The location of the hotel was excellent for ease of sightseeing and travelling on the Hop On Hop Off buses which stopped outside the hotel. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed the quality of the food at very reasonable prices. All guests are given a voucher for $20 discount at the restaurant and Spa.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the port have exceptional views

Stayed at this hotel a week ago. Had a suite which comprised bedroom, separate lounge/full kitchen, bathroom and balcony. 30 floors in hotel we were on floor 22 and had excellent views. This hotel was in a fabulous location within walking distance of all attractions Canada Place, Granville Island, Stanley Park etc and convenience of having free shuttle to Capilano Bridge on doorstep. We had a breakfast and a dinner in hotel which were very nice however there are so many places to eat we didn't eat there again.

Room Tip: Book a suite and high floor.

Centrally located and right on Burrard Street, one of the main avenue of the city from where you can access so many places of interest, restaurants, and good shopping areas close by, and at walking distance from the port. We had a very well equipped suite with a large and airy room. Service was excellent and friendly. We had our breakfast delivered every day and the food quality was good. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Preferably from 10th floor up.

I stayed at the Century Plaza for one night, before leaving for a cruise from the Canada Place Pier cruise ship terminal. I was looking for a reasonably priced downtown hotel, walking distance to good restaurants and potentially even to the pier and one of the beaches for sightseeing. This hotel was perfect for all of that. We took the Skytrain from the airport to the Vancouver City Centre station downtown, which was a nice, 10 minute walk to the hotel. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating through our one-night stay. For the price I paid, I was expecting a standard room with maybe a very small suite area, maybe a little bit of a view, but maybe not. We were very pleasantly surprised and pleased with the room – it was a spacious suite, with a spectacular city and water view (southwest side). I’m sure that can be hit or miss, but I had included in the comments when filling out my reservation that a city or water view would be nice, so I was thrilled with the outcome and the view we had. Beyond this, the free wifi and Beyond Coffee shop for a quick breakfast in the morning before sightseeing was nice. The Beyond Restaurant host and bar staff was friendly and prompt when we asked for a couple glasses of wine to take with us to our room.

We easily walked to Sunset Beach Park in the morning, keeping our luggage stowed at the hotel, then to the Canada Place Pier for our cruise. We really, really enjoyed our day and a half in Vancouver, and the convenience and service at the Century Plaza definitely played a part in that.

Room Tip: I can't speak for other parts of the building, but the view from the southwest side (Comox Stree...
