A popular spot for tourists and locals, Kits beach is very clean and great for those of all ages. It does get quite busy on weekends and holidays. There is a lifeguard on duty and there is ample parking. There is a restaurant, bathrooms, changing rooms and showers.

Beautiful, family-friendly beach in Vancouver. Clean beach with clean, safe swimming (life-guard in attendance) and much-used by locals and visitors alike. Many amenities available, so you can spend the day here happily.

Because of its location, Kits Beach is often overlooked by visitors and mostly enjoyed by locals. Over the last few years, it has received, and keeps getting, a lot of attention from the City. The volleyball courts are often crowded, there is a high-end sit down restaurant attached in a modern building which includes clean public washrooms, change rooms and showers. Although it is could be considered an attraction of its own, the Kits Pool is right next at the West end of the Beach. There is also a nice grassy area with tables for picnics.

I lived in this area over 30 years ago and was able to re-visit recently. The beach hasn't changed all that much, which is a good thing. It's probably the busiest beach in the Vancouver area because of it's proximity to downtown and the populous Kitsilano area. When the weather gets warm the beach gets crowded, but heck, it's a city beach. Beautiful views of North Vancouver and Vancouver Island in the distance. I noticed that Kitsilano itself has changed considerably as far as being more modern and developed. It still has a charm to it. Check out the area. It's worthwhile.

Love the kits beach with its proximity to good eats and transit. Love SUP, or paddling? No problem. There's rentals. Love people watching, playing volleyball or shooting hoops? No probs. You have it all. Family picnic? No problem. There's plenty of room on or off the sand with a kids play park. The park is geared towards the older toddlers although it does have the baby swings.
Then when the days end is upon you, sit back on a log and enjoy the setting sun with its show of colours on the ocean backdrop. And don't forget to bring money if you want some treats at the beach or to go for a swim at the kits saltwater pool.
