Stayed here for 1 night with a friend for a conference downtown. It was a very cute older small hotel, clean and well maintained, with lots of old school character. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location is excellent, in the center of the entertainment district on the edge of Yaletown. No parking available.
They offer a continental breakfast, which seemed to be just bagels and oranges, we settled for coffee.
Overall good value for a downtown stay.

Room Tip: Many rooms use a shared bathroom, so make make sure you ask about the bathroom.

Perhaps we went to a different hotel than the other reviewers? This wasn't the cheapest of the 8 hotels we stayed at during our tour, but it definitely felt it. We stayed here as a last minute booking when our flights were bumped back, as it was advertised (and priced) as a 3 star hotel on the site we booked through. For $111, we got a cramped and dated room with stained carpet and minimal noise insulation, no TV, fridge or mini bar and an almost-double bed with linen so plasticy that shifting in bed was like rustling a plastic bag. The corridors felt pretty dingy, and the single shared bathroom, which serviced all 20 - 30 rooms on the floor, seemed to be always be occupied.
It's reasonable to that when you pay less you get less, but to us the savings simply weren't enough to justify the uncomfortable stay. For only a bit extra there are 3 and 4 star hotels available that would have been better choices.
On the plus side, the reception staff were helpful, the rooms were clean, WiFi was free and the location was convenient.

Room Tip: Ask for one far from the bathroom, otherwise you'll hear the door slam every time a guest uses i...

There are many choices in this beautiful city but we couldn't have been happier at the Kingston. It is not over the top, just very clean, neat and comfortable and very courteous, friendly staff. The Grill next door has great food and atmosphere and all within walking distance of shops and other restaurants. It is a restored vintage hotel done with sympathetic touches. We were very happy we chose this hotel for our brief stay in Vancouver.

Room Tip: Our high-ceilinged, non-smoking room was facing the street but extremely quiet and comfortable. We m...

Besides the hotel was economical, the location was very good; as it was in the downtown of the city, many places was close of the hotel. The attention was very good, the staff was always very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and my bathroom was not shared. One of the memories that I have of my trip to Vancouver is this hotel. I really recommend it!

I found this hotel when looking for an inexpensive place to stay in downtown Vancouver. It fit right in my price range and the room was an ideal size for a solo traveller. I didn't mind the shared bathroom setup, as it meant a huge savings compared to other area hotels. The breakfast was basic but enough to get you going in the morning, and a grocery store was close by for any other little things.

We regularly stay at the Kingston. Long-serving friendly staff and consistently good housekeeping combined with terrific location are a winning combination. Within easy walking distance to Yaletown restaurants. Continental breakfast is simple but always enjoyable in the cheerful breakfast room where local newspapers can be read. Rooms European-sized but well furnished.

Room Tip: Ask for room not facing directly onto street with ensuite

I had a wonderful stay at the Kingston Hotel for my two night stay in Vancouver. The room was cute and reminiscent of the era it was built in. It was lovely to use the bath robes and slippers to and from the shared bathroom down the hall, which was never in use and always very clean. The staff were friendly and I was able to check in before noon with no extra charge and store my bag on the day I checked out. You couldn't get closer to the action of all that downtown Vancouver has to offer. I ate at the Kingston Tap-house next door and the food was excellent and the gluten-free beer was the perfect end to a long day!
