This was my 3rd stay at the Granville Island Hotel. All three times have been for business. This time I noticed that the bathrooms had been updated, as had carpeting and some of the linens vs the last time I had stayed. The rooms are generally very comfortable -- though not necessarily very spacious. This time my room was very small and I could hardly move around the beds. The bathroom - on the other hand -- was very large. The big issue with this stay was the heat (and lack thereof) in my room. When I first arrived the heat was blazing and the room was over 32 degrees. It wouldn't slow down so I contacted the front desk. They turned it off and it never came back on. It was 14 degrees by morning (very cold). Throughout the next day they tried to repair it. It did work slightly better the next night -- but I did have to get up and manually change the temp throughout the night as the thermostat was broken. I do think the hotel would have had a more satisfied guest had they given me a new room. Overall -- the staff is friendly and do seem to try to help out. The food we had over several days was okay -- breakfast was far better than either lunch or dinner. The location is fantastic. You have so many options to wander to...More
