We stayed at the Granville Island Hotel on a recent overnight trip to Vancouver. The staff was lovely, parking was available, and our room was clean and quiet. I highly recommend it. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer in that beautiful city.

Do rent bikes, this City has amazing bike lanes, completely safe, the cafes and scenery along the way, make it a memorable ride.
Do go to the little Granville Theater, truly talented actors!
Definitely stay at the Granville Hotel, it's at the hub of the island activities, perfect for sightseeing, and you can rent a bike from there as well. The rooms have marble floors, great showers, sparkling white linens on the beds, and the most friendly staff in the world ~ they reflect not only the hotel, but the people of Vancouver, a very welcoming city for tourists!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel with family and guests for our daughter's wedding. We all enjoyed walking to the nearby shops and galleries on Granville Island. The Dockside Restaurant did and amazing job with excellent food and attentive service for the reception and the view from the dining room over False Creek is spectacular

We recently spent a week at the hotel for the wedding of our nephew. Great service. Front desk employees were outstanding; friendly, patient, accommodating, informable. Housekeeping was prompt and kept our room spotless and we felt we were in the comfort of our home. The Dockside restaurant was excellent in presentation and quality. All of the employees seemed happy to be working and so friendly to us. The shops and restaurants on the island are fantastic and unique. Never had a bad meal and never had bad service. The public market is one of the true gems of the island. Fresh fruits, veggies, meat, soups, etc all reasonably priced. Don't forget the chocolates! The spirit and dedication of Canadians to visitors is second to none. Halibut fish and chips anyone!

Room Tip: Pay the extra and stay in a "superior" room on the water. Request third floor (top floor)

Location is awesome, hotel needs to provide better ammenities for guests, such as in room movies, not just cable tv.
The restaurant should be open later every night, at least until midnight.
Room service should be offered until at least midnight or one in the am, again to accommodate guests.

Definately need to do something about the mattresses, they are so hard, I always end up with a sore back and toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable.

We love the location on the island and that is why we stay at the hotel, but you need to make the guest want to stay in the room not just use it as a place to sleep while enjoying granville island.
