“Great Stay in Vancouver”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2012

I stayed at this Hampton Inn in Vancouver based on feedback from Tripadvisor. They did not steer us wrong! It was a very nice place, very centrally located, walking distance to Gastown and downtown and Granville Island. In fact, Vancouver is easy to cover by foot and that is from a person who doesn't walk much! The hotel had the nicest hot tub on the top floor and since it was cold and rainy in Vancouver, it was nice to warm up with a view. The kids enjoyed the ping pong and fussball. The floors were very quiet because they didn't have that many rooms on each floor. The breakfast was very typical of Hampton Inn, but that was fine because we wanted to get out and about town. The staff was really nice, offering us advice and even umbrellas. We left on Monday to catch our cruise and the Hampton Inn was able to get their van (free!) to take all 10 of us to Canada Place (10 minute ride) with all of our luggage. There were a lot of extended families staying there. Although there was a restaurant attached to the hotel, better yet was the Pharmacy across the street (for last minute items) and the WAVES coffee shop around the corner. Thanks to the staff!

Room Tip: The hotel was very accommodating at getting us 3 rooms next to each other!

If you're using your Hilton points, this is the place to stay!
Arriving the day before our Alaskan cruise was to depart, we took a taxi from the airport (about 40 CAD). We were able to check in early, and then walked over to Granville Island - Vancouver is a great walking/biking city! There are great paved pathways, with clearly marked areas for bikes and separated for walkers.

We had not expected it, but were happy to find out that the hotel offers a free shuttle to Cananda Place- sign up starts the day of, at 7 A.M. There were various times to choose from, and everyone was able to be accommodated...I think the whole hotel was booked by cruisers! The breakfast area was busy, but by no means overcrowded. The fitness center was neat, on the 16th floor overlooking the city, complete with ping pong!
Overall, the perfect choice for us.

Room Tip: A view of the stadium would be beter than the construction!

Stayed a few days prior to starting a cruise from Vancouver thru the Panama Canal. Excellent location at the end of Robson Street which is known for shopping and dining (within easy walking distance). The hotel is small and quiet, the staff mostly is friendly and they offer a somewhat decent breakfast buffet in the morning. One big issue is the area for the buffet is VERY small and gets VERY crowded VERY quickly. Easy access to tourist bus options. We'd consider staying here again!

My family and I just returned from our stay at the Hampton Inn. Overall, would definitely recommend as it's in a great location and it's easy to get to other parts of Vancouver from the hotel. The breakfast was great, although very busy with other guests, and we also enjoyed the complimentary bicycle rentals. The hotel was also convenient because they offered a complimentary shuttle to the cruise pier. For those of you planning to stay here in the near future, please be aware that there is a MAJOR construction project in the back of the building and you WILL be woken up every morning at 7:00am when the construction work begins. Most of the staff we worked with were friendly and helpful to our group that was visiting Vancouver for the first time. However, there were several (two to be exact) employees that were unnecessarily short and unhelpful. For example, an employee grabbed our bags sitting in the lobby as we were checking out and began putting them in another group's taxi. I quickly stepped outside to get our bags back. No harm no foul, right? However, rather than just admitting a mixup, the employee, pointedly told us it was our fault for not attending to our bags. Maybe he was having a bad morning, but it seemed unnecessary for him to fault us for nothing and being defensive over such a minor mistake. A sour note to end our stay on, but overall, we had a nice stay and would be back if we visit Vancouver again.

Room Tip: Be sure to request a room not facing the construction work taking place behind the building.

We stay here quite regularly and have always enjoyed our visits. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The location is great for sporting events, business and just for families as most things of interest are within walking distance or made closer by their free shuttle bus.

The breakfast is included and is one of the best continental breakfasts we have come upon in our travels. Very happy to recommend this hotel without any concerns

My family and I spent 2 nights at this hotel and found it comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, including eggs, waffles, bacon or ham, and fresh fruit. The coffee and juice selection was wonderful.

This hotel is located just a short walk away from the Yale district and from the Gastown district. Both have lots of restaurants. It is also a short drive to many different sights surrounding Vancouver.

The parking is a little tight, but it worked out fine for us, even in the moderately big SUV we were driving. Know that there is an extra nightly charge for parking.

We had dinner one very rainy night at the Italian restaurant next door -- Frankies. It was great food. Highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant.
