“Comfortable close to the centre”
Reviewed 1 November 2012

The hotel isn't the youngest hotel in the Holiday Inn chain, but it is well maintained, clean and comfortable. 10 minutes walk from the city centre and easy to get to any of Vancouver's attractions.

The room was large, with plenty of sitting space. The bathroom was typical of North America and compact, but clean with a good pressure shower.

Breakfast was substantial and well priced.

All in all an excellent hotel at a good price, and one I will return to.

Free parking and room upgrades as Priority Club members which we appreciated. 10 minute walk to Robson Street and bustling nightlife minutes away on Granville Street. Nice lobby bar, great paninis and good service from "Tim" the bar tender. Accosted by souvenir shop owners as my husband was checking us in which was a little irritating. Won't be a problem I. Future as they are closing down- "this hotel doesn't want us"! Our rooms were a bit of a hike away and our closest lift only took us to the mezzanine. Umbrellas provided in our rooms. Be aware wash basin is separate from bath and loo so if you don't like that check the set up of the room you are booking. Breakfast was only average but the price was OK for a downtown hotel on a co,d and wet morning! Would stay here again! On a lighter note the swimming pool is minuscule and we can't understand what is the point of a pool being 10feet deep when there are signs posted stating "No Diving"?

The hotel is not exactly in the city centre, but within walking distance to many attractions, particularly Yaletown which is just around the corner. The property is a bit dated, it seems that there have been several additions to the hotel which result in a maze-like structure.

As a PriorityClub Platinum member, we were upgraded to a suite which was a nice gesture. A strange thing was the layout of the suite, it actually consisted of two separate rooms with a common private lobby. The challenge was that in order to move between the two rooms, we had to use the room key every time which was somewhat annoying.

Breakfast is served in the hotel lobby where there also is a Starbucks. The breakfast buffet (available for a standard price) was not bad but not overly exciting either. There are dozens of breakfast options around the hotel at slightly lower prices.

The hotel has a small swimming pool, and free parking for PriorityClub elite members, a welcome benefit given the high parking prices in downtown Vancouver.

We stayed three nights at this hotel and we had a great time. Nice welcome from the staff though there was no Priority Club Member line despite the sign saying so. Lobby is cozzy, there's a small restaurant, we had breakfast one morning and it was good. Rooms are well appointed in a modern decor, i was disapointed of the bathroom, it was so tiny that we didn't have enough place to turn around. For those who want a nice view even from the upper floors, look somewhere else. As a platinium member we got free parking, we appeciated. A 15 minute walk brings you to Burrard Inlet and a 10 minute one to False Creek. We rented bicycles on the second day for about 5 hours and we enjoyed riding in Stanley Park and on the seaside bike path. This hotel has been a good choice for us.

Everything was terrible. Lied to us about room type, air conditioning didn't work, terrible service, filthy rooms with food underneath beds. Lobby was new but hotel is really old and not very functional. Nothing of what to expect from a Holiday Inn.

We just had a one night stopover here and for this purpose it was great. Very comfy beds and helpful staff. The area around the hotel can be a bit dodgy, but we didnt feel unsafe walking around. Didnt eat in the hotel. Handy for trolley bus, stop is across the road. Very good reading lights in room. Dont disturb partner at all.

Good location (somewhat rundown a couple of blocks away - we walked it, no problems). Hotel is very clean, friendly/helpful staff. Nice hot breakfast (not free), other meals lack variety. Short walk to most activities. Across the street from hop in / hop off stop.
